Merc Worx, Vorax This company started out as ex-team members got together and made knives only for professional soldiers, private army's and teams members. They now sell to the public, take credit cards, and send a coffee cup with the knife (things change). There is a long story that goes with this particular knife, but that is another story. It is only 11" with a 6" blade double edge (its larger brothers are only single) made of S 30 V steal and has been Cryogenically treated Micarta handle (this one is called the chilly pepper, it allows more torque to be exerted on the blade). The sheaths can be gotten in any color, they are sending me the correct one as soon as they get it. I have had a few of these knives and highly recommend them. I do not know alot about knives but when I was a teenager, I was fascinated by Stallone's knives in RAMBO II & III: He used this in RAMBO II:  And this in RAMBO III:  Till today, many might say that those are nothing compared to survival knives these days but I still find them AWESONE and MEAN!!!:):):) |

The original hand made ones are so collectible that you will not find them. They have a cool factor, it is like every thing else no one tool is good for everything. |

In my day, the only knife a true combat soldier would use was a Randall Made Knife, hand forged by W.D. "Bo" Randell himself, in Orlando Florida. Back then it took almost a year to get a Randall Made Knife, unless you were on orders to Vietnam. Then Bo guaranteed delivery in less than 90 days. These are the 2 I have (and still have), both used for the purpose for which they were designed. My "Survival" knife is slightly different from that pictured. Instead of a screw-on brass cap, it has the original, water tight rubber cap. It will cut through a 55 gal drum!  |

MW is similar except they only had a very limited clientele they did not want to be known or popular, and I always got along with them back in the day because we share the same beliefs. One cool thing is they freeze the knives to as close to absolute zero as possible to make them harder. |

I would say that Randall Knives has a very limited clientele, also. While they are well known to the Military and to high end knife collectors, they are not to the general public......Bo Randall died in the 1980's and Gary Randall, the present owner, took over from his father in the mid 1970's and the very small shop remains so busy that today it takes over three to four years to get a knife directly from them. e.avery wrote: MW is similar except they only had a very limited clientele they did not want to be known or popular, and I always got along with them back in the day because we share the same beliefs.
