The Arbutus Eureka GMT arrived from IslandWatch today...shipped Friday here Monday...Great CS  My initial impression was WOW...Awesome Inner and Outer Box!....and Shock..I never Received a Watch so heavily Wrapped in Plastic than this one...a Pleasant Surprise! The Eureka is a tad over 40mm and 12mm thick...the Matte Finish and attention to Detail on the Dial are Superb and easily Read The Rotating inner Bezel Ring which allows for setting a second Time Zone has a Screw Down Crown..very Thoughtful...the High Polished Case and Bracelet are Quite Hefty as Well as Thick and Has Plenty of Room to Spare for those With larger Wrists!...The Most Impressive Feature Though is the Fit and Finish...very Tight and Uniform w/Solid End Links...All in All a Keeper and Quite the Looker and Much More than what one might Expect in this Price Range IMHO....Ty Marc for the Great Service ..I will give an Updated Review w/Better Pics after I size it and Give Er' a Test Run

Arbutus uses Asian movements, but I don't believe they are sourced from SeaGull, as many other brands are.

Really briefly, Arbutus is owned by a consortium that also is a licensed supplier to Lvmh (Louis Vuitton); the parent company of TAG, Zenith and others. So the same factory that pops these watches out, also makes cases, dials and straps/bands for mid-high end watches.

When I first brought the brand in, I was as "Wow" as Oscar is. To be seen to be believed.

TY,Gang...I am still finding protective vinyl on this Watch..even the insides of the clasp were protected ! I think Mike summed it up in one word..."Handsome"....the Fit and Finish at the Lugs is Absolutely Perfect not a Gap to be seen...and the stepped down Bezel allows for More Crystal to Show Off the Satiny Good Looks of the Dial!..so Far the Lume is Bright...the Test will be Tonight as far as Longevity..the Bracelet and Case are Mirrorlike ...Very High Polished...did I mention Half Links ! ..again Features are abound that You just Don't find on a Watch in this Price Range ...Yes ,I'm Happy

Congrats O...That's a nice looking piece:)

The only thing I know about ARBUTUS is it's a US brand with ASIAN movement as I was told by the local AD here in SG...

And I should have mentioned, as Nando probably knows, Arbutus is big in HK, Mainland China, SG, Taiwan ROC, and just moving into UK and Germany.

When I say big, I mean they are in boutique shops, advertise in mags, etc . . .

Very interesting to know................most "Asian" watches, we don't have a clue, so it's nice to know that these are backed by a quality company the is a real manufacturer!  Thanks for the info, Marc! :)

Ty again Everyone ! The Lume is very Good....Super Bright to begin w/a Slight variation a few hours later but still quite ledgeable....I haven't really worn it ,but have moved it to a winder for the break-in period as the Time is Variant to the Position it sits...so far though the Eureka is Quite accurate ...more to Come in the Following Days Crowe...the Explorer style is a Great Alternative if You are Not into High Polished...and The Eureka is Mirrolike in Its Finish...No Doubt About That! I am sure this watch Would Look Awesome on a Strap but the Fit at the Lugs is So Accurate I would'nt Want to even Disturb it ....So Far this is a very Good Purchase!..Marc included a Super Polishing Cloth and it is getting Good Use
