Orient deal from Island Watch

Liked the blue so much I also got the black.  The bracelet is just the right thickness (3.4 mm) and a great clasp is a winner in my book for $99.  The solid case back is a plus for me, it allows the watch to be thinner on the wrist.  The real selling point to me is the day date movement and the steal retainer ring on the movement ( I have not taken the back off but I read the post a few weeks back with the back off).  Cool watch from a good guy that now has 2 places in my safe.

Sweet! I like the day/date, and the pusher. I love my black beast and yellow beast I regrettably sold. The only thing I don't like about my Orient is the cheap bracelet and the weak lume. For $99 it appears yours are a steal. I'd rather have those than an Invicta any day. :D

A couple of things. One, the lumn on these divers is excellent. I believe Orient may even be using Lumibrite on these models. I have the same two the eric has and both glow within 95% of my Seiko's.

The other is the bracelet. The bracelet on this model is superb. It is a 22mm lug and certainly compares with anything in my collection under $500.

The lume and the bracelet on my Blue Mako are much better than on my Black Beast....and it is, actually, a much more comfortable watch than the Beast...........I am very tempted to get the Black Mako!

........................and the bracelt on the Mako is a much, much better build!

I believe the Orients have taken on a New QC approach and are making a Great Watch for the $$$ with Bracelet upgrades as well as Lume and Size..although some of the 70's models were pretty Big like my SK/Crystal and some like My 3Star were much smaller...but always made a quality running Timepiece that have been free of any CS issues...I would like the  to own a  Royal Orient some day! cool10.gif MikeD wrote: Sweet! Thanks everyone they are great watches that will take a beating and just work.  I do not know about the luminescence of the dials because that is not an issue on a watch to me, I have over 40 watches that have no luminescent material on them at all, I counted yesterday just to see.  The bracelet and overall feel is great the only problem is the hinge pin fit a little loose, but the watch is bomb proof.  Anyone notice that we have Military active and retired, FBI, and Central Intel. as members hell it will be .gov in the not to distant future.
