Christmas 2007. Just arrived from Greece (sorry my camera is broken Camera_photos.gi), two watches that I did not know were "grails" until I unwrapped them.....actually, I knew the Glycine was! 1) Glycine Airman 2000 (GMT) - blue dial! 2) Chase-Durer Cambat Command Automatic (Val 7750) - yellow dial! Came as a package deal, and I was not sure whether I would like the Chase. It is, in fact, everything I don't like in a chronograph. Busy dial, busy bezel............and yet..........I find it strangely attractive and easy to read. It MUST be the yellow dial that adds clarity....it may just be a keeper!!!! cool10.gif

And 90% of the time make the watch pop, where another color would not. Wear them in good health! http://www.timezone.com/library/tlines/tlines0023 http://images9.fotki.com/v166/photos/4/43175/271766/DSCN1037-vi.jpg?1111540500

Congrats on a post Christmas/Festivus double bang. I am certain that CD is going to grow on you with your love for the yellow dials... And the Gkycine is an iconic piece indeed. Enjoy the heck out of them and run your ass to your vendor of choice and buy a $99 point and shoot so we can see them!! Have fun with those two, they are sweet. Pax

Hey! what does this mean for your vintage Glycine Airman? the one who's served you faithfully through thick and thin? :? the one you showed us on your wrist when seated on a tank, I think it was. This was distressing to read. Is it a case of: in with the new/out with the old? Goodbye old friend...move over, make room for your grandson? This newbie is gorgeous, of course, but . . . As to the Chase-Durer Command....too cluttered, too busy for my taste. Anyhow, something about it reminds me of the Seiko SNA.

As far as busy............yes it is, but for some reason, on this one it does not bother me. Again, it may be the color.....'cause you guys know how much I go for the clean military style!

FEAR NOT!!! My vintage Glycine Airman was with me in the heat of it.....and it will always remain my personal favorite, if for no other reason than the memories!
