for the new orsa. After several emails to shane at delaurian, I have a el diablo strap being made with the double buckle and 6mm thick leather and curved lug ends to fit the case. Man is this gonna cost! I borrowed a pic from his site of what it looks like. tell me what you all think.

Thats what I was looking for. Over the top. I really think the 3t orsa deserves it. I'm going to have him make something different for the Vixa's though. Just a nice thick strap with Vixa sewn on it.

Well you certainly have hit it then!!

I was interested in having him put together something for a Vixa as well, but I'll hold off until I see what you get... Is he doing waterproofs yet?

No, Nicky hayden our new motogp champion! I don't think it will fit under the racing suit though. Its tough enough to get the old twig and berries in the damn thing.face4.gif

yes he's doing waterproofs. I'm sending him one of the Vixas so he can measure the curve on the case. I want it fitted tight. he will then have that for future Vixa's.

I really like my Vixa's. There very under rated I think. For such a big watch, they wear very well.

Anybody else got any other strap ideas..........I know that this is unusual, but I find the oem rubber/silicon strap uncomfortable.  Does it take some "wear-in" time?  It is a hefty, substantial strap....but it is (at least initially) not nearly as comfortable as my Daniel Mink Diver silicon strap!

The watch itself is...........simply outstanding!

I think the problem is your delicate wrist, sweetie!!toon1.gif

Truth be told I found the stock strap a bit stiff initially, too. It did soften up and it is outstanding when wet. The silicon strap is purposeful like the watch!!

Ken,

Felt the same for me...until I streached it out. I simple boiled some water and put the strap in it for a couple of minutes, pulled it out and streached the strap.

Nuts I know but made it more pliable and comfortable for me.

Pretty good idea there. On my leather straps, I use snow seal. Use a hair dryer on the strap to get it hot, then rub in as much as it will take, then rub off the excess. It also water proofs them. I use that stuff on my motorcycle suits and gloves.

Great ideas.............I use Snow Seal, too, but instead of warming the strap, gloves, et al, I place the snow seal can in an inch of boiling water and liquify the Snow Seal....then apply it.

I've seen a number of his straps in pictures, but it will be nice to handle one for a change. I had planned on getting a rubber rasmus, but 195.00 was pretty steep for rubber. The hand-made strap is a little less and includes shipping. When straps get up to the 200.00 range, I think hand-made is the way to go. I haven't seen a off the shelf leather strap worth that yet.

Quite franky, there are no straps or bracelets worth over $200 unless they contain precious metals...................yes, really!

Shane contacted me today about the strap. Asked me about thread color. So I should have it next week.
