My Ocean7 G-1 arrived today, awesome watch! First impressions, fit and finish are excellent, solid end link screwed link bracelet with divers' extension. Solid feel bezel with very little play. The reason I bought this over the Steinhart was because of the Plongeur design hands. I love the way they look over the Steinhart's Mercedes hands. Really, other than the hands and O7 dial it is a Steinhart Ocean 1 GMT as I have read they are made by the same contract manufacturer. Lume is good, not Seiko Monster level, but what else is? Although I don't think it is in the same league as Ken's MarcelloC, it also didn't have the same MSRP. Plus, it was cheaper than the Steinhart by 40 bucks. Knowing me, if I bought the Steinhart I would have been modding the hands and dial anyway so I figure I saved more than just the 40 bucks :D I am very pleased with this watch. Nice grab, Griff. I've got the same thing incoming from OnkelC and hope it arrives from Bonn next week. Which bezel did you get? I got the Pepsi bezel and bought the watch as a hardcore stand in for my other Pepsi bezel. |

Just an update, after 27 hours the G-1 is SPOT ON time.gov. I am impressed, especially for a new watch. I'll "watch" it over the next few days and see. Also, I ordered it with the black bezel and now that I have it I wish I had gotten the black/orange. I emailed Mitch last night and he told me I could get additional inserts so I went ahead and ordered one. Cheers, Griff |
