I've been lurking on the O7 site since the beginning, and really wanted to like something enough to buy it.  Just never happened.  There was always something about each model that bugged me or kept me from committing.

Today, with all the chatter about the ProPlof hommage or copy or whatever they want to call it (which I don't like BTW), I ended up on the official O7 forum again.  I had a hard look at the current line and the new G-2, Quartz chrono based on the  case used by Schaumburg and others.  I couldn't stop looking at it.  Nice case, carbon dial with classy hits of colour, silver bezel, BIG and HEAVY, and standard with a 24mm bracelet that normally would cost $150+.  They really designed a nice piece here.  Then I saw the price and the $100 off coupon.  Well that did it.  I finally joined the O7 club.  Now the wait...

Borrowed pic from the O7 forum...

Yes, welcome to the O7 club. I think that is a fine watch. Very substantial. Same case as the LM-3. Nice carbon fiber dial and I like the pushers.

I just re-upped my membership. Couldn't put it off any longer and ordered the LM-2.

I just joined the Ocean7 club, having purchased and received a very nice Lm-3 in pristine conditions. I forgot whom I bought it from; he is somebody on this very forum...;)  The mechana strap is very nice, but also very thick. Does anybody have suggestions how to sofetn it? In fact does anyone have suggestions as to which leather strap is best for the LM-3. I would like to put a light brown to contrast the blue dial.

regards

You might get a light brown Enzo strap and change the buckle out but then again it may be the same strap you already have. Same manufacturers make both the Enzo's and LM-3. I have a light brown Enzo here that would look pretty good on the LM-3

I don't mind the thickness - I've actually sent a PM to Enzo about getting a tan strap, but he is away on business it seems. In fact, if you have such straps, perhaps you can suggest some 'conditioning' (short of Goodfellas methods) that can make the strap more supple. I already noticed a softening, after a coiple of hours wearing the watch. But, I was pleasantly surprised by how wearable the LM-3 is. It's not as big as I had imagined, or maybe, I've just gotten used to the Zeno airplane diver. I would say that the LM-3 can also function as a watch 'de elegance' (pronounced like Bugs Bunny). With a slightly thinner strap, the watch has a very dressy feel, an impression no doubt related to the blue dial and beautiful craftsmanship. Feels like a much mor expensive watch. I would not be surprised if it sold at the same price of an Oris or an Omega equivalent in a retail environment. I'm ready to proceed to the Monstrum now and to the next Enzo creation.....

You'll have to ask some of the leather loving guys here. I only wear rubber straps or stainless. I have tons of leather straps I have never used. I might someday but for now, to me it is just plain un-natural to have a dive watch on leather. mistake.gif
