Zeno WR 300m from longislandwatch.com

ETA 2824-2

I thought I could have written this one with my hands tied behind my back until I looked at the pictures.  I now have now idea what in the hell I have.

The bracelet and case are ones I have never seen before, maybe because I thought I looked at this watch 5 or 6 years ago and never gave it a second glance.  The 300m rating has been achieved with out using a screw down crown, and yet it moves with very little effort.  I like the clasp form what I can see in the pictures, and the screws on the bracelet are a nice touch.

The rest your guess is as good as mine, maybe someone that has it can chime in on it.

You have a divewatch that shares a case w/ the DOXA 250Sharkhunter.  Earlier models did have a screw-down crown, but did not have your modern 2824 movement.  The older Doxa/Zeno diver made do w/ NOS "lo-beat" 2452 movements that did not hack or have a quickset date feature.

Dr Pete's http://www.doxa300t.com site has quite a bit of information on this pair.

Cool little watches, think you'll enjoy it!

Thanks guys!

That is the watch that I thought I was getting, and the one I looked at years ago.  This one has a much different bracelet and clasp.  Bezel is the same though.  I think Doc wrote that in 02/03 but I forget have not read it in years, prob. need to thanks.

I have the very same watch from the very same source. I received mine about three weeks ago. I was also surprised to see there was no screw-in crown, but I was pleasanlty surprised by the hacking feature and tthe quick-set date, as I read in a Doxa vs. Zeno review online that there was no quick-set date feature. In fact, I was wondering if there was something wrong with the watch, as I could not screw-in the corwn, and figured out there were recent improvements made after reading a few more articles about this watch online. Within hours I had the bracelet removed and had a dark brown leather strap installed, which give the atch a very elegant (but not stuffy look. I think it's a very good watch for traveling. You can swim with it, dive with it and also go out for dinner with it. I really like the orange. I've gotten compliments on it from anyone. My one complaint is that it seems so small in comparison to the Zeno airplane diver. After a while 40 mm. cases start to look smallish - even if comfortable

Congrats Eric...   I was gonna ask how the 40mm looks/feels - for me, I like at least 43mm but sometimes they can 'wear' larger.  Wouldnt mind getting one of these if it did...

Hey Ken... what differentiates the older model from the new one?

Sold my Zeno to Clayman (..has a very cool divewatch site).  Wrote him back in a panic a couple of weeks later begging him to sell me my watch back.  Clay had mercy upon me, and returned it w/o a struggle!

He'd taken some gorgeous photos in the meantime though.

My watch... (but Clay's excellent photography!)

I love mine but I wish I knew Marc had them before I ordered from Eddie Platts...oh well...still it is a great watch!
Mine is the updated version too with 2824 and non-screw down crown. My only concern is the fully polished finish. I think if one were to go diving in waters where barracuda were about there would be trouble! Plus I see every tiny little mark and go running for the Cape Cod cloth!
Maybe it is time to ship it to Duarte for a full bead blast, hmmmm.

Congrats!

Cheers,
Griff

Basically, the movement...the "old" model has a lo-beat ETA 2452 with screw down crown and the new models use the ETA 2824-2 with gasket.  Cosmetically, they look the same!

Zippo...when mine gets too ratty, the bead-blast is the way to go.  I've seen them and it's a great look!

The Matte finish is actually an option. Zeno has options for every darn watch they make, so  you wind up with thousands of combos, literally!

From what I heard it is a crap shoot as to what movement they set into the case.  Enjoying being home peace out
