So I've been thinking about a yellow diver lately, and with the lack of DOXA 750T "normal" divingstar, I opted for the Orient Star 300m "helium gas diver," sold only on the Japanese domestic market.  Orient exports the black and orange dials under the "Orient" name which US dealers carry, but not the yellow dial.  Not sure why they dropped the Orient Star name either.  I ordered mine through Higuchi, and as usual, Katsu-san was first class and a pleasure to deal with.

Initial impressions - fantastic quality and finish, I wish I had a Seiko Marinemaster to compare it to (Christian (Onkel C) may post a review of the two at some point).  Running +3s per day so far, and I like the neat power reserve dial - no more worries on this non winding watch "winding down" with the meter telling me exactly how much time I have left.  I like the ratching bracelet as well, and the lume is among the best I've ever seen.  The black portions of the bezel appear to be brushed and powdercoated, with the brushed finish still visible in those regions - I've never had a diver with this type of finish on the bezel and it is simply outstanding.

A few quick and dirties, and I fiddled around with the long exposure setting on my camera to make a "sweeping" lume pic.  The photos are not edited in any way - the watch really is that bright in the dark!

Sorry if I did something wrong on the post.  I did not notice anything odd about it (such as scrolling to the right).  They were normal 800x600 images, and on my Firefox, showed up vertically so unless you have a screen resolution below 1280x1024, it should fit in the screen without scrolling.

Great watch!  Love that lume!!

I was really torn between that watch and the Fortis Marinemaster that I bought.  Me thinks I made the wrong decision... and once I get the Fortis fixed, I might sell it to fund the Orient. I'd love to see a wrist shot (and let us know your wrist size) Thanks!
