I won a Ti Citizen NY0054 diver on the Bay a week ago, and while I was waiting for it to be shipped from Singapore I found another really cool ETA based Ti diver that I also ordered from Germany. Since both are taking some time to get here I need another watch to tide me over(!) So I snagged this Zeno Explorer (Miyota based) on the cheap last night. :D

Cheers,
Griff

Congrats, Griff. They will all arrive at the same time, require signatures, and get you in the dog house!!

Looking forward to seeing the other pickups too. What's the Ti model?? Or are you being coy?

I love that card JC! hand6.gif

Being coy, whoooo, meeee??? :P

Of course two (requiring signatures) packages came today, good thing I had a package to Duarte going out today necessitating a trip to the PO. I snagged the pink card from the USPS before my wife saw it :D
First is my Citizen Ti NY0054, this is a hell of a bargain for 100 bucks, chunky bezel, great lume and the left handed crown that is nicely knurled.  The second package, from Russia via Germany, is my new Poljot Argus titanium 200m auto diver with an ETA 2824-2 under the hood.  I never saw this one before and happened to stumble across it at vostok-watches.com.  It has a uniquely Russian look but with the ETA workhorse, it grabbed me right away and I had to get it.  I looked it up on the WUS Russian forum and it wasn't popular because of the Swiss movement but I feel it is a plus in case down the road it ever needs repair.
Good lume, excellent fit and finish, and that smooooth ETA sweep, plus a custom fitted rubber bracelet which I will be sizing shortly.

It was a Titanium Two-Fer Friday snoopy1.gif

Cheers,
Griff

The Zeno looks great with that strap Ken hand6.gif

Russian watches are what got me into this obsession...err hobby :D
I have wanted a Russian "style" diver other than the usual Vostok Amphibia (of which I have a few!) and the huge Zlatousts. I have been looking at the new Vostok Amfibias, the Scuba, Reef, etc. and was going to get one and I saw the Argus.

Now if I could get my hands on one of the older Poljot divers (one of the guys on WUS affordables has one, it is sweet!) or the Vostok Amphibia with the hinged lugs, without having to restore them... cool10.gif

Griff

Thanks CJ!
The Zeno Sea Hunter was still available direct from Zeno, but only in the white lume version, they discontinued the orange. The white is just as nice, the bezel is lumed too :D

Griff

I have to say, I really do like the look of that Poljot.   I do agree with an ETA 2824-2 as the workhorse, you can't go wrong.  It seems to me that in the coming years, if your automatic has a sapphire crystal and an ETA for the heart, a watch will hold its value quite well.  Seems as if the ETA movements are going to get harder and harder to get over the coming years...........

EXCELLENT SCOREtoon1.gif

Thanks guys, the Poljot really grabbed me :D
It comes in 3 dial styles, the stick markers like in my pic, sorta reminds me of a UTS a little, another black one with Arabics at 12, 6 and 9 (which is a little more "Russian" looking, but with green lume instead of white) and a blue dial with applied markers which was a little over the top for me.

I had the Citizen on all night and it nearly has Seiko glow, really outstanding and it is off only +3 sec since I set it yesterday at 4pm, not bad for a standard Miyota! I don't know why I waited so long to get this one!

Cheers,
Griff
