Let me preface this post by saying, although its still a bit off, this is my birthday watch and it is even nicer to get it from such a good friend!

I've been after one of these for a while and saw one up for sale on another forum. I knew O had one so I thought I would ask his opinion on the watch. Well I got more than his opinion. I got his Tutima since he's gone off and decided he wants a yellow DI 300. So, I got a better deal and, dare I hazard a guess, a better watch.

Specs lifted from Gemday

    • <
    • b> 25 Jewels
    • Automatic (selfwinding) Mechanical Movement
  • Day and Date Window Display (at the 3 O'clock Position)
  • Sapphire Crystal
  • Uni-Directional Rotating, Ratcheted, 0-60 Elapsed-Time Bezel
  • Luminous Hands and Hour Markers
  • Pure Titanium Case, Satin Finish
  • Screw Down Crown
  • Screw Down Case Back
  • Titanium Bracelet, Satin Finish
    • <
    • b> Tri-fold Clasp with Security Lock
    • Wet Suit Extender
  • Water Resistant to 300 meters (1,000 feet)
DIMENSIONS:

  • Diameter 43.5 millimeters (45 millimeters with crown)
  • Depth (thickness) 12 millimeters
First off, a big thanks to Oscar for hooking me up on one of my wish list watches. always a great deal and great watch with O!!

This watch is shockingly light especially when compared to my Fortis Marinemaster which is just about the same size. Its got a beautiful titanium case and bracelet and is extremely light and comfortable but with enough presence to let you know you are sporting a serious timepiece. Fit and finish are excellent. The 2836 is probably my favorite ETA movement and I am a sucker for the black with white lettering on the day/date display. The dial is a deep dish which shows more orange when in sunlight but appears at times a reddish/orange. The dial appears lacquered enamel and is very rich and inviting. The hands are the very model of simplicity and the overall dial layout is economical and clean.

I haven't worn Ti since my son was born (he's 5) and I am looking forward to getting reacquainted with it. I have a feeling this is going to be a regular in the stable and bring forth a surge of orange in my rotation.

Congrats on one great looking, eye popping orange Tutima.  I had the chance to try one on recently and was definitely impressed.  Hope you enjoy your early B-day present.  ThumbsUp02.gif

Happy happy Birthday Watch!!

You don't see enough of these Tutimas around.  I'd have a tough time deciding between the Yellow and the Orange.  Both gorgeous divers!
