I finally pulled the trigger on this pre-loved GSAR.  A heck of a Christmas gift if I may say so ...

A Marathon!  Awesome!  What vendor did you buy it from?

No vendor - this one's from a fella out of WUS.  He was actually trying to trade 5 of his watches, including this one, for an Omega but I don't think he got any bites so I offered to take this off his hands.  It's actually from an 05 contract but I figured $450 wasn't a bad price for a GSAR.

PS

A little OT but I really admire that Evo of yours! I almost pulled the trigger on that one as well but I couldn't find the right deal in my neck of the woods so I opted for a truck. No regrets but I wish I was driving an Evo right now!

I was actually looking into Marathon watches but then it's officially only available to US government workers.  The places that had them for the public I didn't feel comfortable giving my CC number to.  Sometimes you can't be too safe on the Internet.

Thanks for your comment about my Evo.  As I posted on another thread, mine is a 2006 MR Special Edition.  Red stitching, six speed, etc.  The best and most expensive of the Evos available to the public.

Too bad about you not finding the right deal for it.  I actually had to drive out of state for mine.  Once I stepped on the showroom floor, it took me just a couple of hours to see it, look at it, test drive it, and drive it out the lot.  When you know what you want, then things get real simple.  The power literally scared me when I test drove it; it still does!

The new 2008 will be out soon so maybe you can get that.  To me, it doesn't look as nice that's why I bought mine BEFORE the old style Evo's run out once I saw what the 2008's look like.  Blah.  The designers are trying too hard to make it look mean but made it look ridiculous instead.  Many people, however, like it.  Maybe you do/will too.  And to me, this is what an Evo looks like, not the 2008.  Mitsubishi completely stopped competing in rally races a few years ago, so they're milking all they can from their "heritage" instead of creating new technologies based on competition out in the field.  Now it's mostly marketing.  What a shame.

Feel free to ask me if you have any questions about my Evo (or about my new Spring Drive!!!)

Yeah I saw that spring drive - it looked awesome.  I'm still trying to warm up to Seiko watches also but I haven't found one I really like.  One of these days I'm going to spring for an Orange Monster and maybe just keep it in the case for posterity! goofy

Also went to the mall today and went into this watch store that has both high and low-end watches, from Zenith to Casios and everything in between including one a few Omegas, a Panerai and a Couple of Anonimo Militares.  They also had some pre-owned pieces like Breitlings and Tags.  Pretty cool store. cool10.gif

Why not talk to Bob at http://www.broadarrow.net/ ?

I got my GSAR from him and wouldn't have a problem giving him my CC details.

I can't stop looking at this watch! goofy

And, even though it's smaller that what I'm used to it wears like a big watch.  Hmmm??? Maybe there's a JSAR in my future! perfect.gif
