FedEx delivered my new Doxa SUB 5000T Seaconqueror Sharkhunter yesterday morning. 3 day delivery from Switzerland to my door! Sized it last night and it fits like a glove. I haven't had a chance to shoot any decent pics yet so here is one from Doxa.

All I can say is this watch is impressive! Fit and finish are remarkable. The second hand sweeps like butter. The deep flat black dial is absolutely gorgeous with the faceted hour markers. The lume is also amazing. If you are a lume kind of guy, this watch has plenty of it, we're talking Monster lume! Beautiful AR coating on sapphire crystal. Nice heavy screwed link bracelet is very comfortable. The new ratcheting dive clasp is an absolute machined work of art.

This watch comes to as close to perfect in my tastes as I've seen. A true high-end dive watch with modern design but still retains the vintage characteristics that Doxa is known for.

With my hectic schedule here before the Holiday, and being out of town, I won't be able to shoot some really nice shots until next week. Check back the end of next week and I will have lots of new pics.

Dave

Congrats Dave... looking forward to your pics on this one.  Is the centered logo and dial writing taking a little getting used to?  Seems like it pops on that dial...hand6.gif

I find there is no distraction with the newly centered Doxa logo & type as opposed to their previous off-set logo. It is very classic looking. All the other Doxa design cues are there with the classic Doxa case shape and bezel. The sapphire crystal is slightly domed for a nice look too. The overall width is the same as my 750T (45mm), but the 5000T is thicker at 15mm. The dial is deeper too because of the raised/applied hour markers. The hour markers are beautiful on this watch, each one contains a "channel" of deep lume material (I believe it's C3). The metal hour markers themselves have beveled sides so they catch the light in a very interesting way. Vintage look without looking blingy. I dislike bling on a watch.

Last night I decided to give the two rows of polished links on the bracelet a brushed finish. MAN, that was the perfect touch! The bracelet now has a fully brushed top surface and polished sides. I like this alot better and I think it matches the overall look of the rest of the watch.

It's going to be hard to pry this thing off my wrist. One word...........

Demo - too cool10.gif for school!

Raised markers make it a cracker, and your bracelet mods sound brilliant.
