This weekend I was cleaning up around the property and was loading up pile of scrap and this is what I found.  It had made a nest for itself under all the junk.  So, now it seems we have a new kitten. Its friendly as heck.  So we will see what happens.  Cats dont last long around here.  Last one crawled up under a truck to keep warm in the winter.  Well.. I dont need to tell you what happened there.

Cute kitten Scott, here's our new addition to the family at 4 weeks old, we actually pic her up on October 25th.  She's a Savannah, a new breed that's only been around for about 8 or 9 years, half African Serval wild cat and half domestic house cat....she'll be a hand full.

So tempting to make an off color remark...

The cats are cute. I've always kept a cat around with my dog or dogs... great combo!

Very cool looking cat Nabco.  Be sure to post pics when  she is all grown up.  This one and Shelby play together fine.  I just hope nothing happens to her as she is an outdoor cat.

Thanks Scott....

It should be interesting with her, the Savannahs are know to be a little feisty and high strung with never ending energy.  They actually have personalities closer to a dog than a cat, they love to swim and play in the water, they like to walk on a leash, and play fetch.

The fun part will be controlling where she goes, these cats have a vertical leap capability of 7 1/2 feet without a running start...they will actually jump up on top of a door and balance them selves there.  Going to have to "kitty proof" the house!!

Sounds like a really cool cat for sure!  If I were to buy a cat, I have always wanted a Russian Blue.  They say they have a personality like a dog also.  I checked into getting one before I got the new pup but, I couldnt find any here in Pa unless I went to Philly, About a 5 hour drive from here.   I may have to check into the Savannahs too if I ever decide to buy  a cat.

Well, I knew it would happen, Kitty got ran over tonight.  It really sucks, she was a great kitty, real friendly with people.  I think i am going to give up on cats here.  That is why I didnt name her.  The wife is really upset, sobbing, as she was the one that ran her over.  Crap.:(   RIP Kitty.

Sorry to hear that Scott. It's always hard when you're the person at fault(but not really 'at fault') if you know what I mean. I'm sure that the wife's guilt will pass in a reasonable amount of time with your help and understanding.

Yea sorry to hear that Scott. I lost one that way many years ago. all 4 of my babies are indoor cats only. Only have to worry about me running them over. It is never easy to loose a pet.

I had one for 5 months once and I still think of him 9 years later often. Had a bad reaction to some meds and died. So I feel for ya buddy.

Bummer. My expereince with cats has been the same. If you are going to let them roam, there is a high probability they will end up getting hit. CJ just did the same thing a few weeks back. I keep mine indoors. Feel for ya' buddy!
