Hi guys, I wanted to drop in and let everyone know that my tour in Iraq is done:D. Our replacements have been here for a couple of weeks now and have taken over responsibility for the duties and missions we were performing. I'll be flying out of here in the next day or so and expect to be in my livingroom with my wife and son no later than the 15th, possibly sooner depending on how long we'll be at Ft Bliss de-mobilising. I know I haven't been around much here lately, but want to thank every one of my 3T friends for their support, kind words and prayers for me and all my buddies. I've enjoyed 3T from the first time I discovered this place and continue to do so, even though I haven't participated much lately. 3T is the kind of place it is, because of the quality of people that populate it. Thanks for being here .Oh yeah, one last thing. Hey Ken and TNY, I was awarded my CIB and an Army Commendation Medal tonight  . |

After my fiasco with the fake tudor sub:(, I came to the realisation that I was focusing too intensely on my watch hobby in an effort to stay distracted and keep my spirits up. Once I figured this out I knew I needed to back off a bit. I've continued to lurk and keep up with the happenings here, but have been indulging in my gun hobby a bit in an effort to take a breather and regroup. On a positive note, I got the email that my custom MKII Stingray has shipped , so I have that to look forward to when I get to the houseyahoo.gif. |

For those of you who don't know...this is the CIB (Combat Infantryman's badge)... It is probably the most coveted award in the US Army. It can only be awarded to an Infantryman (or someone serving in an Infantry Unit in an Infantry MOS - Military Occupational Specialty). Other awards, up to and including the Medal of Honor, are awarded for single acts of bravery (in my opinion, bravery, in combat, is the rule rather than the exception). The CIB is awarded for sustained exposure to hostile fire over an extended length of time (usually a miniumum of 90 days). Congratulation, Jeff, on your award of the CIB...and the Army Commendation Medal! You are my Hero! Thank you for your service! |

Oscar, Steve, aloy and Ken, Thanks guys. This'll probably be the last time I check in for a couple of days. We're supposed to fly out tomorrow afternoon, heading to Kuwait then back to Ft Bliss. I'm not sure how long we'll be at Ft Bliss, it could be as little as 3 days or it could be a week. We just don't know. Anyway, take care and I'll talk to you guys soon. |
