Got an Iphone   today.  Dont know what  to think of it yet.  Anything I should look out for? Any apps I should get?  Seems somewhat complicated.  Whats up with texting?   Any suggestions to get the most out of it basically?   Thanks.

I have one and love it. Just surf the "apps" icon for downloads that interest you. You have to have an itunes account of course.

My kid brother has it and loves it now. He said there is a bit of a learning curve but he had it down the first week. His girlfriend has the 1st gen and he said the 3G is much better.

I have the LG Dare the iPhone just had more to it that this old Dawg needed. LOL :D

Have fun with it. Check out the App site and look over the freebies first. My brother has loaded his up. ;)

My Mercedes doesn't like the 3G so it is a no go for me. Also I prefer Verizon over AT&T

What I don't like about the iPhone is that it only comes with AT&T cell service...one of the coolest features (for golfers) is that it will download almost any golf course in the country and give you exact yardage to the hole!!!!

I am replying from my iPhone. I am slowly learning how to use it. Where do you get the golf course info? It's pretty cool, every time I get a new email it let's me know. At&t has the best service here and my family are all on AT&T so it's free to talk to each other.

Most of my family and friends here are Verizon. Except for my kid brother who went with AT&T to get the iPhone. So I have to pay to call him and my folks who have a land line. LOL :D

You can likely find the app by googling "iphone apps golf" ;)

Scott,

There is an App called "AroundMe". It uses the GPS in your phone to locate you and the nearest locations of whatever you want. I have had a 2G phone and recently upgraded to the 3G a couple of months ago, my wife also has a 3G phone. I like my phone because I can combine devices into one; i.e. phone, PDA and music player (iPod). woohoo.gif

Also, the more you play with it the more in tips and tricks you will find.Thumbsup3.gif

Thanks Bill,  I have found the more I play on the internet, the batt goes down pretty quick.  I live about 12 miles north of Somerset off Route 30.  Bedford is about a 35 minute drive.  We sometimes camp in Altoona or go to a Curve game.

I have yet to go to a Curve game, left home about 20 years ago (Navy). We have the Suns down here, been to few of their games. Although I'm still loyal to my roots (Die-hard Steelers fan)

No. She did what is called a Jailbreak. Which means you remove the ATT block for the sim card so you can use any carrier you want. Search iPhone jailbreak and you will learn more.

Its been a month now and all I have to say is that this thing is great. Everone should have one.  All of the different apps are so cool.  I have about  4 pages of apps already.  Its amazing all the info you can have in the palm of your hand.

If they make a 3ed generation I may go for it. This LG Dare gets flaky with a attitude sometimes with the touch screen. :?

Id like to learn about the Un-block feature chip to allow other carriers with this phone.

Thanks, I just downloaded it.  Very cool.  Says it has 44 different timepieces.  Have to check them all out.  I am sure they will add even more in the future.

Went through the watches, very cool.  The ones that have timer functions even work.  Right now I am using the Cigarrillos Excelsior pocket watch with the flyback minute hand what I guess is a jump hour.  I want one for real now. :)

I'm using the Ball Official Standard as my iphone "pocket watch." I actually own one of those.
