Went out to take care of the chicks today and found 3 eggs.  These got me by surprise. I wasnt expecting any till the end of oct. I have to get my nesting boxes built now so they have a comfy place to lay their eggs. cool10.gif |

Got 2 more eggs today. Spent the eve building their nesting boxes. Got them all done just have to get it installed in the coop. Then comes getting them trained to lay in the boxes and not on the ground.  |

Well, around here its the chicken, the egg, then the watches. Here is the nesting boxes I built. The plastic eggs are to show them where to lay the eggs.  Seems to be working :cool:  Pic of the roost. I have it on hinges so it swings up and I can latch it to wall. to the left of the roost is a clean-out door. I just use a push broom to sweep the litter right outside.  This is what i think is a "White Rock" checking out the nests. She will lay brown eggs  This is Race. He is our only rooster. He is what is called a "White Polish"  |
