Ian, shame on you for not making contact when you were here! Thanks for the positive comments. SA still gets some negative press coverage in places. I'm still looking for a crime free country to move to..... ![]() Hopefully the soccer world cup will have some positive spin offs for us.... Mark, thanks for your positive feedback. It was indeed a great trip and personal achievement.

What a Beautiful place Graham. It looks like it was an Awesome trip. South Africa is one of 2 places in the world that I've wanted to visit since I was a kid. Australia being the other.

Oscar and Murph, its as easy as falling of your bed to plan a trip. Just do it! A few years ago I acquainted an elderly fellow from North Carolina on one of the Mercedes-Benz vintage forums. We exchanged PM's, and he showed much interest to visit. Well, long story short, he hopped on a plane and stayed with me as my guest for 2 weeks. After his return he wrote me a very touching mail about life, choices and destiny. A month later he died.... Experiences like these have definitely played a roll in my life when it comes to making decisions. I might be a hedonist................ My wife will say I'm simply selfish........ ![]() Maybe Ian and I should start a 3T travel agency to the Southern Hemisphere! ![]()

Thanks for the words of encouragement. My wife has had absolutely no interest in seeing South Africa due to the heat(she says prefers colder climes), but wants to visit Australia. Yeah, I know it doesn't make sense, but I may have gotten the wheels turning after I showed her your pics. And by the way, my wife says I'm selfish too![]()

I am late to this string but I use to live in South Africa! It was spectacular - I worked as a chem engineer on MossGas in Mossel Bay and then Johannesburg for a few years. Good times for sure. I was fortunate to travel all over Namibia and Zimbabwe as well.

Absolutely amazing, as a biker myself, this pulled at some heart strings. (living in florida I have been hit 3 times in 4 years. last one took me out for 3 months, so i decided to stay off the 2 wheels for a bit) Awesome pics, what a great thing. not many people get to do stuff like that, cross it off the bucket list.
