of a watch I could have bought for $450.  That is basically what it cost me for the vet to tell me my dog had gas.  She has been poked, prodded, put under, stuffed into a cage, and God knows what else.  I thought she was a goner.  The vet thought she had swallowed something and had blockage.  Couldn't find anything on xray although she was full of gas.  Couldn't find anything after they did barrium and the reaction she had was condusive with having some sort of blockage.  Still didn't see anything.  So then she got the little camera down the throat.  They couldn't find anything.  She is looped after she woke up.  So now I feed her rice and boiled ground beef, antibiotics, and Pepcid.  I knew she was gonna get bad karma.  She caught herself a bunny on Easter.  Here is a old pic after my wife tortured her by tieing a bow on her head.

You did the right thing with the vet. Lost mine at 12 1/2 years to what WAS an intestinal obstruction. Too old to operate - took almost a week to die (under sedation and pain killers).

I'd like to have 10cents on the dollar for all I have spent on MY dogs!

Once they show up here they are automatically family and that has always cost me plenty!

Of course I fully expect to be rewarded one day when they ask what I did GOOD while I was sleppin thru life!

Yeah right!:P

12 1/2 years?  Man, that would be great if my Bailey would live that long.  Btw she is fine and up to her normal bad behavior.  She is a great dog and loves us and we love her.  Sorry to hear of your loss.  Although, you have been blessed to have such a long time with your pet.  I can only hope to be able to have as long of time with mine. My grandmother also had a Springer.  She also had a portrait of hers as well.  Great, loyal, and loving dogs.  Mine is a little possessive and nuerotic at times.  She likes to make faces too.  Here is a classic from her puppy years.
