I saw that over and over on ESPN news this AM .... wow ... THAT IS EXCELLENT ENGINEERING that allowed him to live !!!!!!!!! With the winner I think your looking at the next superstar in F1 ....... Tiger Woods of racing perhaps ????

Yea I saw it over and over on the news too. Amazing survival and escape of major injury there. :shock:

That was a nasty crash. Forunately, his 'tub' remained in tack. I have seen some other accidents following racing. The worst for me is still Michael Waltrip hitting the wall at Bristol several years ago. It is the only time I have seen a stock car completely come apart with the driver left sitting on the track inside the roll cage.

There also was Zanardi's (spelling) accident where he lost his legs. Terrible.

For me the crash and loss of Senna will always be most bothersome... Great engineering on the safety tub and the Canadian safety crew was top notch!!.

Racing today is all about safety....due in part to this crash rated as one of the worst ever in racing history from the 1955 24hrs. at Lemans.

The driver Robert Kubica was released from the hospital yesterday. His injuries... a slight concussion and sprained ankle. Incredible!!

Unbelievable to see that he survived that mess! On some of the video clips you can see his helmeted head flopping out of the cage, inches from the ground. Angels are all around us - even at the Canadian GP.
