Going to the Range today, and thought I would post them.

A couple of Smith's

A modified 1911PD with an external extractor that actuarially works.  This is the only one to have if you just have to have one.  I like the original 1911's with the internal extractor better, but some people think it is a feature to be able to close the slide with one in the chamber.  I personally never have with any 1911 and would never advise it but some do it anyway.

I wish I could tell you about all of the modifications but this is the first time I have ever picked it up.

I will also be shooting one of my favorite firearms a S&W Performance Center 44mag with a 4" barrel.  I will always be a fan of revolvers and will always grab one first over any automatic.

Works of art Eric... and I love the wheel gun - cut my teeth on those too, but work switched to Glocks, so had to give it up (used a Ruger 38 3" barrel).

Have a good day O.

The more I look at that 44, the stronger this itch is getting.  I would always bob the hammers on mine (mainly because of how I carried) and that one would look killer done that way.. imho...  also,  a pachmyre grip was a necessity for me.   The barrel tip compensator appears to be interchangeable??

Yes, it is interchangeable.  The compensator may not make any real difference, but it does in my mind and that is all that counts in my book.

Could you recommend a good indoor and outdoor public ranges in Orlando?

I very much would appreciate it.

Well the range we used for qualifying is called Riegs on South Orange Blossom Trail and we would usually go to a local quarry to shoot outside.   But probably the best overall ranges in the area are Shoot Straight (several locations).   Here's their website with info:

Thanks alot.

Now I just need to work it in one of my trips with the girls.  I cann't get married in Disney because it would cut into our vacation time together.  It is tough to be the only man in a house full of girls.

Wow, those are sweet!
I haven't been shooting in years, always had a hankering for a Ruger auto pistol though.  Since I am getting my older son a Ruger 10/22 carbine for his birthday (he did fantastic shooting at Scout camp this summer and loved it) I am going to pick something up for myself, a 22/45 Mark III with bull barrel.  A .22 is the only chance I am gonna have with my wife, and I am going to take it!

Cheers,
Griff

I am not claiming to be an expert on the Mark's, but I would look into getting a like new used Mark II.  I have friends that do know allot about them and they always prefer the Mark II's over the Mark III's.  I wish I could tell you why they are more reliable, but after asking if I should upgrade to the III they told me not to even think about it.

Hope it helps

Thank you for the tip, I appreciate it!
I wanted a Mark II almost 20 years ago after I fired a box of .22's through a friend's and spent the money on some other darn thing and regretted it ever since.  I should have bought it then, plus I wouldn't have the resistance from my wife over the idea of a pistol in the house (she grew up with them, father-in-law is 37 year National Guardsman...go figure)

Cheers,
Griff

Yeah Buddy that compensator makes a difference!  From IPSC to NRA style .22... your compensator's your buddy!

My G-23's old enough the trit sight vials have dimmed noticeably.  Have to qualify every 6mos?  Sounds like an interesting job.

Suppressors are the best for someone breaking into your house, reduces the db's and allows one to retain night sight by also suppressing the flash.

45 cal. with a suppressor is my favorite to keep around the home for just such an occasion.

Any of these work equally well

It would for me...  less muzzle flip and my double-tap will hit the center of mass, instead of the second round flying off to a non-vital area.  ;)

These are the ones that I keep in my bedroom safe.  There are mags loaded for every type of weapon that I could possibly grab in the dark.  These are just the ones that accept suppressors.

3- 45 cal Mark23's

3- 45 cal Tactical

3- Counter Terrorism 45 Tactical

1- Sig Tactical 45

1- 40 cal Tactical

Sorry for the pic but it is late.

Let some half pint Slop host talk some shit about Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT).

I don't keep track but what does one of your clips hold.  I see 3 of your hand guns are HK, great weapon. I know where I work we carried the HK 9 riffle (late 80's thru mid 90's) and shot glazier round. It's nasty round as it enters the body it's like a meat grinder, seen what it can do to the human body "serious weapon, serious round".  You have a awesome collection (11 I count), I feel sorry for the poor soul that tries to break into your house, but then again I don't feel sorry for him, he deserves what he gets.  Oh hey great watches to Bro.

CT's hold 8 45 cal rounds

Mark 23 and 45 Tacticals hold 12  45 cal rounds in the magazine

The 40 cal Tactical will hold 16 rounds in the mag but that is due to having a jet funnel attachment.  The Jet funnel does 2 things it works as a mag well extension so longer clear mags can be used, it makes the weapon have better balance due to placing a big chunk of steal off of the bottom, and it angles the mag well to make tactical reloads easier.  The great thing about the clear mags it they have an extra large steal base plate that allows the mag to drop from the weapon a little easier and makes it hit the ground end first every time so if rounds are in the mag. they do not fly out and give something else to get in someone's way while clearing a building.

Better pic of the 40 cal Tactical

They are all H & K's except for the  one Sig, I just use the slang terms for them.  I will be clearer next time.

Sure envy you guys that can justify these toys as "job related"IIRC, the old Glaser "safety round" was supposed to be safer for bystanders?  Prefragmented core was devastating to the intended target but wouldn't over-penetrate or ricochet.  Even fragmented on contact w/ drywall, stray shots wouldn't fly off into adjacent rooms, etc.  Cool round!

Just stunned by that accumulation of HKs E.. I aspire to owning one one of these days!

If it makes you feel better I do not own any of them they are issued to me and I am responsible for them at all times.  They have me on paper until I am no longer useful.

Glaser rounds are like shot gun pellets that bread out of there casing on impact.

The opposite end of the spectrum are ones that break laminated glass with out causing fragmentation or delamination of the round.  Then they continue on there mary way until the second impact at which time they do what they do.

I know watches because I have been around them my entire life, but weapons are much more fun to design and work with.  I love it when stuff blows up.
