I wanted to try my Seamaster on rubber but didn't want to plunk down the $400+ to get the Omega strap and buckle so I opted for this strap off the Bay. It has a pretty nice fit and is a smooth soft silicon. What do you guys think? Do I need to get the OEM to keep things "right" or can I get away with this?   |

I've got the same watch that I just put back on to my Omega mesh. I think that your new band looks great. I wouldn't drop the money for the OEM unless you really loved the look and feel and planned to leave it on there for awhile. Or unless it really bugs you, that even though no one else would ever know, you know that you've got an aftermarket strap on the watch. Nice! Erik |

I think that one looks good.  If it were me; I'd wear that one for a while and decide later if the OEM is the way to go. $400 is kinda pricey just for a tryout. Hell, most people would never know. If it isn't bothering you... Or Jeff ;) Last edited on Wed May 26th, 2010 10:56 am by natevan70 |

Hey Mark...I think this looks pretty good, and in fact, really like the look of the Seamaster on rubber. You know, your 1st pic which was posted in the Daily wrist post area fooled me...at quick glance just based on the first pic alone, I thought that was the Omega Seamaster rubber on your beautiful 2254.50. That pic in the daily post today actually had me researching how much the Omega Rubber costs (yikes!! - as you pointed out, I would have a tough time spending that much $$ on a rubber strap). We all struggle with the lint magnet that these silicone straps are, but this one is close enough that you may have convinced me to order one up and give it a try on the 'great white'. Is that strap tapered or is it a full 20mm from lug to clasp? |

Thanks guys. This strap has proven to be super comfortable and unlike many of the silicon straps, it isn't picking up all types of lint and debris. Sure felt good in yesterdays upper 80's with plenty of humidity. Chris, the strap doesn't taper and is 20mm all the way through. If I'm not mistaken the OEM tapers down to 18mm. The fit at lugs is right on which makes it look OEM. |

I am not won over by the rubber to be honest, sorry just my taste I guess. It looks good but could look better I think but its all down to personal taste and I can just see it on the metal strap and that wins me over. Seiko on a rubber or Orient are good but that watch comes over and kicks you in the nuts and says "I'm the omega baby sorry about the coat". The metal strap is like a tux to James bond on that to me. Dont get me wrong Mark I am not having a go I just love the stainless on that one. |
