Hi all, here are my first impressions of the new Seiko 6R15A Diver with black dial. First, a word on acquisition of this timepiece. There are two reliable sources for this Japan-only watch, seiya-san (http://www.seiyajapan.com) and higuchi-san (http://www.higuchi-inc.com/index-e.html) which can both be trusted all around. I ordered mine at higuchi and was impressed by the lightning-fast delivery (ordered on Tuesday night, shipped on Wednesday, delivered Saturday morning to Germany, customs slipped on this one;-) ). This is how „ze package from Nippon“ looks: ![]() ![]() The watch is branded as a part of the Prospex series from Seiko and even the maker himself seems to see it as a „Poor Mans‘ Marinemaster“, because the pictures in the manual are... well, see it for yourself: ![]() ![]() ![]() Now for the watch itself. The first impression is „WHOA, NELLY!“, it got a real heft and shinyness to it, it feels really substantial and looks plain gorgeous: ![]() ![]() Some specs: Width is 45millimeters without crown, weight is around 200 grams with unsized bracelet, lug width is 20mm, lugs are drilled, the bracelet tapers to around 19 millimeters. The bracelet is quite short, I had to remove 2 links to fit it for a 180mm wrist. The clasp is Seiko standard, with two-button secuity pin on the clasp, and additional security buckle with „SEIKO“ embossed, as well as a divers extension. ![]() Dimensions: The watch is big. Here is a size comparison to a Sinn UX: ![]() ![]() ![]() Height is around the 13mm mark, the Crown is „S“ signed (milled): ![]() ![]() ![]() Finish: The Suomotoe/Camelsumo/6R15A/SBDC001 is of a mostly polished metal finish with some brushed elements which accentuate the edges of the watch. The back of the case is also executed nicely, the „sonic wave“ logo is printed/stamped: ![]() ![]() Some wrist shots: ![]() ![]() Some vanity shots as a finisher: ![]() ![]() I hope you enjoyed my impressions. Feel free to ask for more info. And NO, this one is a keeper and not up for sale! ;) Greetings from Bonn and have a nice Sunday, Christian

Hadnt had the pleasure of wearing a UX... yet... but thought it looked similar to the case on the Seiko sawtooth I used to have which was very comfortable, despite the size and heft...![]() Onkel C wrote: srh_pres wrote:

Nice review..........might be a little big for me, but I do love Seiko, and now, with the 6R15 had-wind, hacking movement plus the world-renown Seiko quality...what more can you ask for!
