Hello all,

I received my first Benarus yesterday (Sea Devil).  You all know what they look like but I thought I post a few pictures anyway!

I wanted a watch that was solid,  large and had some character.

The dial had to be clean and uncluttered so that it could be read easily.  I really agree with the Mondaine Watches slogan that "the World's best watch is useless if you can't read the time".  So many dials these days are far too fussy for my taste!

Initial searches had me favouring a Sinn U series but then I happened across the Sea Devil.  A quick check of the specs and taking account of the price and the decision was a no brainer!

First impressions of the Benarus are very good.  The package with case, tools and spare straps is superb.  It really makes you think that the watch was designed for people who appreciate what they put on their wrists.

The watch itself is superb in the flesh.  I have yet to take it off the steel bracelet which is far more comfortable than I thought it would be.

Part of the "Benarus package" though is the service received from Ralf and Steve which I have to also speak highly of.  The internet allows us to send messages around the globe but somebody still has to open that "inbox" and take the time to reply!

The Sea Devil arrived in the UK 5 days after ordering from Steve in the US, and that included a week-end.

Thanks guys!

Congrat on yr new watch.  smile8.gif

Mine should arrive in a few days. Torn between black and yellow, but decided on yellow. If I have enough money, probably placed order for both. :D

Now, I'm waiting for the Moray.  :dude:

Thanks to all.

As I said very impressed ... now I've got to make my mind up about the Megalodon before the pre-order endscrap.gif

My only fear is that it may be a little too large!

Assuming the web site info is up to date, there are five more exactly like that one for sale here:

http://www.benarus.com/purchase/index.php

I wouldn't wait too long.

I agree with sooner76...

I think there were 12 left when I ordered mine.

Clearly the last remaining few won't be around for long!

Yeah I would but Ralf offered me one for $425 a little while back but I foolishly turned it down because I didn't really 'know' Benarus at that point and now I can't bring myself to part with the extra $75... You know what its like!!

I know what you mean!

All those who were wise enough to pre-order got a real bargain!

I think it's a wonderful way of doing business though and Benarus have to be commended for it.

Allowing customers to have input at the design stage and then have them"invest" in that design, but at the same time rewarding them with a discount  is a fantastic way of doing business.

I agree with your feelings about the Sea Devil.  I purchased the same style last Friday and received it Monday from Steve.  To say that his service was fast is an under statement.  He answered all of my questions as anal retentive as they were.  The watch has gained 2 seconds in 5 days which is amazing.  This is the most satisfied I have been do date with a purchase like this.

Thought I would try the Sea Devil on an alternative strap with red stitching.

I liked it on the bracelet but I think this looks pretty good too :)
