It would be sweet if there were a chunky but athletic somewhat more petit/feminine version of the Benarus style. |

Women can wear Benarus as they are. Big styles are in fashion for ladies also. My wife has been wearing the yellow Sea Devil lately. |

Same for me, my girlfriend also wears a Sea Devil but I know a lot women who a bit smaller watches So what have you in mind if you ask for a women diver, what size what colors My experience is also that women prefer quartz watches they are not interested in the movement itself and like if they can wear it any time without setting the time I think the idea of a women watch in general is good because our women accept our watch hobby more when they also get a new toy |

I agree with you on the quartz 100% and I think a good size would be sub 40mm and around a 20mm bracelet, but must have a timing bezel. I think many women's watches today are also quartz chronographs. |

I'd definately be in on one for the wife. Maybe 38-40 mm, white or light blue dial and certainly a quartz. hand6.gif Last edited on Sun Jul 5th, 2009 10:25 am by Michael 808 |

If you are seriously considering a women's watch, then you should make one that women will want, rather than one which their partner's think they want. In my book a women's dive watch should be between 33mm and 37 mm diameter, not including crown. Anything larger than that is a man's watch. It should not be overtly girly - if it has a mother of pearl dial and diamante on the bezel then it's not a dive watch! So, make it black dial, with a regular dive bezel; a mix of brushed and polished finish on the case and a brushed steel bracelet. It should definately have a date function. Martin |

My wife had the Seiko SUG089, I say "had" because she lost the dang thing:X. Anyways, it was a nice watch (self winding too) but at 34mm it was a little small. |

My wife has a tiny wrist, probably about 6 inches, she is wearing watches 39mm to 44mm and her friends are now doing the same. 100% agree that it should be quartz, she also is constantly changing the straps to match her outfit...so quick change straps would be a great touch. |

I created a monster and my wife owns about 8 quartz watches and two auto's....she wants more autos in her collection...so I would vote for an auto |

You are absolutely correct, a watch created as a "real" dive watch for women would be a very narrow market, the women I know that are into watches are into them for the fashion statement and the ability to accessorize with something cool on their wrist. Ralf has the WIS side of the business more than covered with his great designs, exceptional quality, and unbelievable CS. Creating a watch for the ladies that is a fashion statement would be good business on his part....I'm sure most of us here would buy one for the ladies in their lives, I know I would. It can be in the "dive watch" design, but a quartz, with maybe a MOP dial, changeable straps in 38mm - 42mm range for a couple hundred bucks....I think it would sell like crazy!!! |

I agree that women are looking for something a little more showy. But a masculine look is still what I feel is attractive on a woman. Like wearing a starchy dress shirt. Some thoughts I had were: A good crown guard, or a left handed crown. Probably my wifes #1 complaint wearing big watches is that it digs into back of herl hand. Big hands (I know you're the one) A domed crystal, something that catches an extra amount of light. Maybe no anti reflective coating. maybe only single domed. And the dome transitions into a bezel smoothly. No immediate change in the slope where the two meet. Anything glossy is easier to polish without crevasses for dirt to wedge. Enamel seems to be getting popular. The stainless polish on the Moray looks hot. I like lume faces because you could something flashy with the markers. (I would imagine diamonds won't make there way onto a Benarus watch any time soon) A simpler rubber strap than the one that comes with the SD. Maybe like the ones shown for the GMT. Something I could still wear. |

Interestingly, my wife was just telling me the other day (when i was asking her for the Mega's options) - Benarus should make a ladies diver ;) She likes the design of the Cuda and SD so far but its a tad too large and thick for her. IMO a ladies diver for today's women can have the following features: Largish case - at least 42mm w/o crown BUT not too thick. 10mm at the most. Movt : Quartz Finish : Mainly Polished surfaces for added bling Dial : Colourful dial options eg red, MOP, Bezel : Stylish numbers - dont have to be too legible :P Maybe this dream will come true ? I bought my wife a Renato Beast on rubber which is 45mm and she absolutely loves it. Those who own reNOtos know the Beast is still a chunky timpiece even on rubber. it is hard for her to wear a ladies timepiece now. Anything above 40mm I think would be a hit for Ralph and Benarus. If this comes to fruition, please keep me in mind. I would love for her to have a Benarus. Last edited on Thu Jul 23rd, 2009 11:30 am by TopGun |

I just recieved a orange PVD SD that I bought off of another forum today. As I sat in the officer changing the band, a female co-worker commented on this exact thing. She would love a "women's" size. Stu |

My wife would LOVE a blue faced Benarus that was very small and delicate (25mm). She adores the Barracuda face and was actually excited about the yellow Sea Devil I just bought. Unfortunately, she has quite thin wrists, so a big watch swallows her arm. I'd buy a small one instantly. |

Most women I know don't really care much about watches much less whether it's quartz, auto or cranking. They most usually match their watch to their jewelry for the day (or week) meaning the more watches they have, and the more versatile their ability to "blend" with their jewelry, the better for them. Maybe this explains why roughly 80% to 90% of women's watches are quartzies. Patek, Cartier and Omega are just a few of the brands that offer more quartz variants for women than they do autos. Patek's signature line for women is their "24". My wife only likes watches because of my love for watches. She can't understand why I fuss about them a lot. She wears automatics now because I "confiscated" her quartzies many years ago. On size, I think 40mm is the biggest that majority of women would tolerate. Not only is it big and heavy for them but a big watch gets in the way of many things they do at home. Maybe a watch coming in at 32mm would be the biggest many would consider at all.;) |

Hello, my moray stealth PVD arrived yesterday, and my Wife just LOVES it. She har ordered me to participate in this tread to make the woman´s watch a reality. I think a possible "lady´s" watch should be around 38mm perhaps 40mm like the rolex´es. Large watches is trendy at the time, and a lot og women wear these earlier men´s watches. so i´m guessing a 38-40mm wouold apeal to both men and women. If that is voupled with a 18-20mm bracelet you would end up with a great unisex watch. |
