Hello. I got Ralf's email about doing the selection for the Megalodon pre-order options. My wrist is 6 and 3/4 inch and I am trying to get a version which will not make the watch appear bigger than it already is.

I am considering getting the PVD version, but I am wondering whether it will wear/appear huge (a big black mass of metal) or whether the uniformity of dark colour will actually mask the size.

I do not have much experience with PVD watches - so please chime in with your thoughts. The alternative will be the brushed/blasted case. Which version (with lume bezel) will help make the watch wear/appear smaller? Thanks!

Not sure if it's true for watches but that's why women like to wear black dresses as it makes them look slim and skinny.toon1.gif and lighter colors make things look bigger....When I was building my house the Architects at work told me to choose a light color for the siding to give the impression that the house is bigger and darker colors make objects look smaller.....so they say.....

In my opinion and possession of numerous pvd watches, I think the pvd will look smaller, due to not reflecting as much light... and the black dial being almost uniform in color to the case will play off as a smaller watch. IMHOwatch2.gif

I agree, the PVD will probably make it look smaller. You're a brave man going for a watch that size with that wrist! My wrist is a similar size but I haven't got the guts to try hehe.

That's very true! It's down to you not noticing shadows on black objects as much. Hence the brain finds it harder to work out the dimensions of things, or rather they look flatter (not fatter!) etc...

Hey - maybe if the theory of black looks smaller holds true, we should broaden our horison to providing professional wardrobe advice.  Having a bunch of hetro blokes on the fashion block would be a refreshing change!

Thanks for all the thoughts - I have chosen these options:

- Blasted + PVD;

- lume bezel,

- black hands (seconds tipped red).

Hope it all works out! cheers.
