Today i was back from vacations (:() and when i arrived in my office, i had a DHL slip on my desk with a note to see my boss. Well, i had originally given my work address for shipping since it's easier for me but the watch arrive when i was at home, of course :P. Anyway, it was a great surprise and made me return much smoother. Mine was shipped from Hong Kong so no leather strap yet but, as everybody that owns a Benarus knows, the bracelets chosen by Ralf are of an amazing quality and extremely comfortable to wear, if you like to feel the weight! Even if i want that watch on a leather band, it will spend the rest of summer on the SS bracelet, it's better for snorkeling and swimming ;). My first impression when i received the watch was a bit different from the Sea Devil and that was a bit normal due to a different presentation used, wrap vs solid case. The package box it came in was not on the cheap side, it was well built and packed to protect the watch from those animals that you find sometimes in postal services :D. Didn't have a wrap yet so I enjoy having one now. With that said, i didn't care too much about the container and wanted to see the content. THE MORAY, that watch that at first didn't get my interest at all (i know, i was an idiot! First, thank god i got oneyahoo.gif I didn't have a silver dial in my collection and thought that it would look good and create a distinctive vintage look with it's greenish lume. Well, IMHO, it does look very good. The "metalic look" turns almost white when outside and has nice reflections hard to discribe. All numerals and five minutes markers are precisely printed and filled with Superluminova. I don't know if it's because of the silver dial but the lume is impressive, better than my black Sea Devil. I didn't do long tests on lume but the prints and the hands now seems to have same brightness so, good job Ralf and Steve, you did your homework again. Right out of the pouch, I was impressed by the brushed finish quality on the case, my Sea Devil is BB (and also very, very well done). I don't have hundreds of watches to compare with, but i would say that the finish gets close to the one on the case of my Nav-b, which is one of the nicest case i have. There is no sharp edge and it's very well cut. The only place that seems to had got a bit less attention is the end link area, and at the lugs were they attach to the case, but nothing noticeable unless looking for it and at that price point, that watch is already an achievement in itself IMHO. The crown has the engraved Benarus logo, like the back, and also done with precision. It's a substantial watch . It has a good presence on the wrist, at 44mm X 16mm, with a boxy case, it wears big but very comfortable, very very comfortable, and I'm no big bone :). I have just a bit under 7'' wrist. The bezel has a nice clean look but since i saw the black optional bezel, this one will have to go. Anyway, mine is not 100% aligned and i know that this is a bit like winning at the lottery to get a perfectly aligned bezel because i have seen very expensive watches with that problem too, and the black bezel realy adds contrast to the watch. Very good move from Steve and Ralf, THX hearteyes.gifhearteyes.gifhearteyes.gifhearteyes.gifhearteyes.gif The bracelet was a breeze to size, thanks to the screwed links and good screwdrivers included with the package. Ralf, Steve, i love your braclets. I'm again impressed by the quality of the solid end links that are perfectly fited to the case and don't show the push pins that attach them to the bracelet. Something i see on my friend's Omega Sea Master chrono bracelet, a watch he paid $4000 in Canada (It's also a very nice watchhearteyes.gif). I kept the hidden clasp because it's beautyful and with one link removed on each side, fits perfectly. Again, the Benarus logo is engraved with precision on the center piece. I was also happy to see a little, little dome on the crystal. At least, i think i see one :?. I don't know about precision of the movement yet but having a few other watches with that Myota movement, when adjusted, it's good for long and I know this is not something i have to worry about with Benarus, since they regulate the watches at the manufacture, it makes then within very acceptable specs out of the box. If their is one thing i would like to see in the future, from Benarus, it's a date wheel that would show the day straight in the window and not on the side. This is really MY fantasy and the date wheel used now fits perfectly with the watch but i find it more aesthetic when straight. Overall very impressive watch at a bargain price, BENARUS, you have a customer for life! Thanks for reading and for those who are wating to pull the trigger on a silver dial, Steve has a few left so, fast before they sold out! Here are a few shots i took under water, well, morays are fishes no? Daniel, ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for taking the time for the quick write up!! Nice pics as well, I'm debating on getting the black bezel as well, just not sure I'm able to do it myself. Although I suspect we will see a write up on how to change it over soon. |

great post, a hate none aligning bezels too. That aside imo Benarus are the best bang for buck watch maker in the world at present (exluding perhaps Seiko) |

The silver dial does look amazing! I got this week one Dart Dial and one Silver dial. Try posting some pics later today. My surprise was how much I like the Silver dial. I thought the Dart Dial was going to be my favorite in my collection. It is, except for the Silver dial now. I've seen some great pics of the Dart, and love mine, but the Silver is hard to take off. Initially I thought about getting the Silver dial because I thought it might be cool to put the silver hands on it. Kind of a reverse stealth, all stainless look. Then Steve posted the shot of the silver with the optional black bezel. That pushed me over the edge. Looks awesome! Now that I have both the Dart and Silver and the extra bezel I think I'm changing my mind again. I'm think I like the all Stainless look of the Silver, and might still put the silver hands on it. I actually like the optional bezel a bit more on the Dart (trying to tell by holding it over the watches, I'm scared to try swapping it on my own). I was thinking the dart might look neat also if I put the black hands on it with the optional bezel as well. A true black and white (Silver) look to the pair. Any thoughts, or anyone custom order anything similar? |

Thanks for the kind words guys I Also like the effect of the double domed crystal Steve, it gives nice dimensions to the watch. It was a good move to go with that kind of sapphire. Last night, before going to bed, i charged the lume for about 30 sec. as i usually do to test it, and i have to say that this watch has amazing lume! It will perform extremely well for over 5 hours with a 30 sec light charge  not bad at all! And there is no question, it's on my wrist again today! |
