A question. I was playing with my kid today with my Sea Devil on and happened to hit the carpeted floor with my hand and noticed the watch was shaking. A couple more tries and I figured out that it was duplicatable and you could hear the mechanism shaking. Is this a problem? Is it normal? Is it anything???????? I have several autos and never once noticed such a thing before. Thx. seth

Sounds normal for an auto... Once in awhile you get it just right and the rotor really gets hummin'. Should be cool. *The opinions expressed above are that of a watch geek and not a watchmaker*

I figured it wasn't broken, per se, as the watch is accurate. But the watch was literally shaking my wrist in that one position for a few moments. I assume that its just the rotor getting some centrifugal force, but it was weird, non the less.

Yup... I have had it happen many times. The other night on my new Moray and quite often on my Omega's. I am sure someone more horologically endowed than I will chime in, but I think all is well. It is an odd feeling though, you can literally fell and see it shake!

Yea very normal for some movements to really go. The Swiss eta 7750 has a nice wobble to it.

The Miyota and Valjoux 7750 use a unidirectionnal winding mechanism, therefore when the rotor swings on the free side, which is clockwise on the Miyota movement, helped by a hit or hard shake, will make the watch to wobble on the wrist, which is totally normal.
