Whoa, that looks great!  The way the lugs are mostly under the case make me hopeful that it won't look ridiculous on my 6.5" wrist.  Can't wait!

FYI - I put "factory sample" on the photos in case Ralf has something changed after he inspects the samples, so then if these photos are out on the web you know this one is the sample and not a finished Limited Edition number.

Hello Steve, Fantastic. Thanks for confirming.

Separately, is the engraving on the crown just interim? or is it the final version? I do not recognise the design. Just wondering. cheers.

Wow. Really nice. The CAD drawings never do Ralf's watches any justice. I didn't pre-order the Moray or this and regret it after seeing the samplescrap.gif

not for this model. all of them will be made the same. the black date wheel is what was on the original drawings and on the website.

Guys the specs on this watch were set in stone a long time ago....nothing is going to change...enjoy the fact we have real samples and it is getting ready to go into production for delivery in a few months.

IMO it is perfect.gif the way it is and I can't wait to have mne on my wrist woohoo.gif

It looks really great.....I can't wait for mine to arrive.....good work guys

The only thing that does not look very good to me is the silver minute hand.
I wish that the silver paint on this hand would have been a little thinner.
Well, of course this is only a factory sample. I can only hope that this will be fixed at the final product

Probably more than that - I think Singapore is over-represented in terms of the population afflicted with this watch sickness. :)

Well... there will be at least 2 people walking around with silly grins on their faces when this arrives.

Lads - well done the photos. They look great.

Just back from a spot of game fishing off the coast of nort-eastern Australia. Also managed to get in a few dives on the reef (the Great Barrier Reef) while there, and look forward to going back next year with my Megalodon.

Here is a picture of a Marlin one of the guys brough in (catch and release).

Cheers,

Jo

I'm wondering that as well. The tooth design with the abstract " B " in the middle is cool but I prefer the bold "B" on the other models.

We baited with Tuna. I think the line is heavy duty as Marlin can weigh well in excess of 1000 pounds. The one we caught was 650 pounds.

.....err....it hasnt?

Christmas is the only ETA ive ever seen?

(giving you the opportunity to make me look an idiot here Oscar!)

(BTW, i would much rather it be 100% as the guys want it - in Jan - than it be rushed and released in December)

A bottle of beer is about 320 grams so I guess we don't need a workout to wear the Megatoon1.gif. Since we can lift several beers one after the other, we will get used to the Mega:)

Megalodon Update: 11.18.09
New from Ralf is that the actual watches (series 1) are finishing up soon, but we are waiting on other parts of the whole package to finish up. I have also learned not to promise a date or time because the production works at its own pace and putting dates on completion has proved to be inaccurate. I won't be able to provide new photos until I have the actual watches, so it will be a few weeks at the earliest before I can post a new photo. Thanks for everyones patience, we all have to wait together on this stuff.

Was there ever any information on what will be included with the Megalodon? (type of case, straps, tools, etc)  I ordered one but I don't think I ever knew what we were getting aside from the watch itself.  Was that information posted before or is it still unknown at this point?

Thanks.

Was there ever any information on what will be included with the Megalodon? (type of case, straps, tools, etc)  I ordered one but I don't think I ever knew what we were getting aside from the watch itself.  Was that information posted before or is it still unknown at this point?

Thanks.

I have a hard time getting this concept of "what else do we get"... for free I presume....isn't the watch in a case all that should be expected?....you might want to check out some Rolexs and Omegas and ask the sales person "what else do I get" and see their reaction.subtlelaugh.gif

The packaging and extras will be a pleasant surprise. Let's just say the Megalodon isn't shipping in the travel roll.

I disagree with this notion because all past Benarus watches have come with extra stuff (with the exception of the 1km, which is a special case IIRC).  The expectation has been set that way.  I wouldn't expect any extra stuff from Omega or Rolex because I know they don't come with extra stuff.  And we all know the extra Benarus stuff aren't really "free".  The purchase price definitely covers that stuff.

This is not to say that I'd be all bent out of shape if the Megalodon didn't come with anything beside the watch itself.  If that's all they are able to offer at the price they charge, I'm cool with that.

It's good to know that Steve is hinting some nice extras with the Megalodon though.

actually GX they are "freebies" as explained by both Ralf and Steve in an earlier discussion....they are gifts and not considered into the price of the watch, with the exception of the rubber strap....I am not sure if you got in on the 3T pre-production pricing or at the after pricing but either way once you recieve the Megalodon I am sure you will say to yourself "man did I ever get a deal"hand6.gif

....and why wouldn't the Meg be considered "a special case" as the 1KM? ....anyone buying a watch based on what extras you get will find that their watch selections will be quite limited in reality.I'm not saying it isn't nice to recieve extras but I am not going to get used to it nor expect it as everything is subject to change.... ;)

I just simply wanted to say that I didn't think it was fair to expect extras nor to have a company feel obligated to include any extras based on past productions.I do however appreciate all that Ralf and Steve do for us as fans and loyal Benarus consumers! :)

Any news on the Megalodon ?

It would be nice to see some pictures, and have an aproximitly delivery date for the European and US watches.

I´m still hoping for a Megalodon as a Christmas present.

There has been unusually quiet recently, not as benarus normally handles customer care

Yes mate,

I went for HK shipping, if Ralf can guarantee no issues with customs tax then I'm willing to trust him so I get this for Christmas and not next year, I feel like I'm 5 again now looking forward to Christmas.
