Hi folks:

I'm curious to know, do we consider Benarus to be a German watch, Japanese watch, boutique watch? Have you ever thought about it before?

Best,

Tom

Good question...

I haven't got one yet, but they seem to represent great value for money for what you get.

Well engineered, no gimmicks, original design and direct customer contact.

Waiting anxiously for #49 Megalodon to be delivered.

hello, Ralf is From Germany, I am in the US. The only watch that was manufactured in Germany is the Benarus 1KM, and the movement is ETA from Switzerland. The Moray uses the Japanese Miyota movement, the other parts are sourced from various companies that can make our custom designs, and the machining and assembly is done at a facility in Hong Kong.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Regards,
Steve

I think that a great company is about the people involved, more than the source country of the components.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. To me this business is fun, and the designs are always evolving. It is also great to see ideas turn into drawings then into premium quality watches that will be showing up on the forums 20 years from now.

I come from a design background and not customer service, but I can tell you that most of what I do now is communicate with our customers, all day, every day. It has taught me a lot about myself and is becoming the best part of this job... making sure everyone is completely satisfied.

The Megalodon will be my first Benarus. I generally buy only "Swiss Made" watches...
What got me decided about the Megalodon is the fabulous design, the ETA beating inside and the attention of Ralf and Steve on details. Also that Ralf visits the fabric himself is a very reassuring fact. Communication by emails was allways excellent and very honest. Through all them personnal posts and the revues written by the previous owners of Benarus watches, I was able to make me a very positive opinion about the label. I am sure that I will be satisfied with this first watch from Benarus.
I would say that a Benarus watch is primary issued of a collaboration of Americano-Germanic creativity and discipline.

In my experience you will not be disappointed.  Great watches at any price point!
