This was the only Moray that had technical difficulties with the movement, it just didn't run. So today I pulled the movement and dropped in a new Miyota, I also replaced the polished hands with black hour and minute, and a blasted seconds hand to match the case finish. the seconds hand has an orange tip and blue lume dot. The rest of the watch and hands are C3. This one will go back on the market.

Looks great!  You're well on your way down the slippery slope of true WISdom...you design and now you mod...the obsession can only grow from there.  With the right tools and knowhow, endless possibilities...

As custom as these watches already are I have a feeling that I would be pressing that button often!

Awesome!

Possibilities are endless.  Too bad I like my Moray as is or I would want it customized.

This watch above is now heading to a new home in Canada. But I am going to post a few more custom watches on a new page on the Benarus website called "Custom Shop" I am working to get that page up today as well as clean up some other pages on the site.

Nice job Steve, I particularly like the orange tip on the second hand. Look forward to the "Custom Shop".cool10.gif

I am not sure yet, but Ralf and I are talking about a future Moray with an ETA. Then if I can get the movement holders, dials and hands and I could retro fit a 1st Generation Moray but could be a $200 upgrade after purchasing the parts and doing the mod. An ETA 2824-2 is $130 just for the movement from an online dealer.

Then I would need a specific dial, this might be something for the new "custom Shop"

---

by the way, I like the Miyota, and I like the movement holder in the Moray, everything is very secure and fits nice with no play.

I must say that I am very happy with the Miyota in my Moray, it runs around +2 seconds a day wich is pretty good I believe.hand6.gif

I have a Moray PVD BRG and the Miyota movement runs +1sec/24hrs when I wear it. It runs +3 to +5 secs/24hrs when I put it on the winder. I find it to be an excellent movement. Steve, I am curious if the Miyota movements you use in the Moray are regulated before they are shipped? I also have noted how smooth manual winding of the mainspring is. It is much smoother than my ETA 2824 movement watches. Is this typical for this Miyota movement or is this a higher grade of this particular movement? Do these Miyota movements come in different levels of quality as the ETA movements do? In closing, I really like my Moray watch and I bought a second one for my son who really likes his Moray stealth. I can't wait to see the Megalodon I reserved earlier today!!ThumbsUp02.gif
