Hello, below is the link to the design list and reservation list for the Megalodon 2. This is not a pre order and the details can be found at the top of the list. Please follow the instructions on the page and send me an email with questions, a PM or a posted question will not be answered as quickly.

http://www.benarus.com/megalodon/reserved.php

I am posting the link on 3T first and will show the link on our website starting this weekend.

Kind Regards,
Steve Laughlin

yes, I like to make the list in HTML so I can add the names on the fly and keep it current. When I get an email for a reservation, the name can be seen on the list in minutes.

except when I am sleeping.

The new color combos are looking great.    ThumbsUp02.gif

If I've had the money to fund a second Meg then I would have a big problem choosing the preferable combo for me.....

....maybe I should persuade myself that not be able to buy one is better because I won't have the puzzle of choosing  crap.gif .... I wish.....

The text on the Dial has changed from "Automatic" to "Megalodon" - is this just the mock up or will that be the case on the second gen Megs?

I like the fact its changed - anyone else have a pref?

And i agree with other's opinion - there are three or four combo's i wouild like!

But im not a big fan of having two of the same - hence my choice of PVD, which is sufficiently different to make it worthwhile.

I know we are all desperate to know - and i realise we are talking very roughly here - when could we expect these Megs to become a reality?

A question about the PVD'ing technique used - are the links done individually (or done with a complete bracelet (iirc this means you get a finish that doesnt completely cover the entire link - but only the parts that are visible?)

I appreciate that the cost is higher for individual links (though clearly you wouldnt do one at a time hehe).;

this is the contact page for Benarus....all you have to do is click on Steves e-mail address and it will take you right to e-mail and you can let him know which MEG II you want to reserve.hand6.gif

http://www.benarus.com/contact/index.php

....if you can not load the page posted in this thread with the pics and availabilty of the MEGII options than the problem is more than likely on your end as everyone else is not having a problem.thankyou.gif

David,

When I click on the link, it autofills on the 'TO' line: mailto:sl@benarus.com?subject=Purchase Page in the subject line.

Take out all the other nonsense, so the 'TO' line is:

sl@benarus.com

Hope this helps!

Thanks! computers and software treat the code different and it looks like it doesn't work in every system, but that is why I spelled it out on the page also (sl@benarus.com)

Wow they all look beautiful,hand6.gif I like the fact they all have Megalodon on the dial, This is coming from a blind man right now, it might look better when my eye sight return to 50% or better, I'm not complaining still smilingThumbsup3.gif:):)

I am in for two....

Brushed / Blue Dial/ Silver Hands

PVD / Red Carbon/ Black Hands (this watch is going to look SICK!)

I am not sure I like the word Megalodon on the dial. Your higher end watches have automatic, not the watch name, on the dial.  Oh well..it will make my first two even more special.

Congrats Seve and Ralf on a job well done!  (again!!)

The new Mega looks fantastic, really like the red dial. Unfortunately due to the extortionate tax and duty we have to pay in the UK for stuff from the USA it puts it out of my price range.

Great watch anyway.

I reserved the orange/brushed/lume version......Now I am starting to think the orange face in the PVD version would be really sharp....I cannot decide if I should stick with my original choice or do the orange in PVD...I do have the original Mega in brushed. Maybe I should just flip a quarter!
Anyone have any suggestions?

Just sent an email for an orange dial/brushed case/lume bezel Megalodon 2!!  I SHOULD have enough lunch money saved up by the time it is released for sale.
This will be my it/end all diver. It will be a gift to myself after I get open water certified later this year. party.gif

looks like the flood gates have opened and the Meg II is on it's way to all 150 offerings being completely reserved in 1 week and deservedly so as it is by far the best diver value per $ on the market if not the best overall forum diver imho! hand6.gifhand6.gif

Michael, I just added you to the online list, thanks for pointing that out. I had you on the master spread sheet, but not online. This is one reason I like having it online so everyone can see what is going on and then there is less mistakes.

Aww i so want a steel sunbrush!.

I think the ultimate compliment must be the way that all the styles have been reserved at a very similar pace - so there isnt one which people think "yuk" to.

With the exception of Black Carbon i can honestly say its a toss of a coin decision on the rest.

ok, listen... as you can see I have adjusted some of the case finishes on the list, I am open to changing the case finishes around for those that have already reserved, and letting new reservations choose the finish, also the bezel (all steel or insert).

I have just a few days to do this and then lock down the orders, I think more people are seeking the brushed than blasted and I want people to get the
watch they want.

Please email me if you want to change your case finish or bezel, but not the hands, we have those set.

Thanks for re-posting that awesome polished Mega.  I originally ordered the PVD Mega 1, and wish I had ordered a polished one.  Now I reserved a blue polished, and when I squint my eyes enough, the above pic's dial looks a little blue (hey I'm trying my best with a REAL pic...LOL)...YIPEEE

I'm so glad Steve allowed some last minute changes and that spelled the difference for me...and meant I'd snag my first Benarus. This is what I got:

10 or so left then?

Fantastic take up - i really think this business model works much better.  In the long run using off the shelf items isnt going to mark out a company as anything special.

Much as its a nightmare due to taxes i also agree with a final qc check by Steve.

Just my 2p

Thanks, Nick. I saw yours, Teddy's and I think William's some time back and that really prompted me to opt for the polished version. I also think the polsihed version will make the watch look a little bigger than it already is.subtlelaugh.gif

Yup Yup Yup. I was really looking for the polished version and when I saw that they were all gone, I hesitated. Good thing Steve went through a clearing operation and inserted a few polished cases. That was it. I changed my mind about the black dial because I think I need some more blue dials. So that's how it went. Glad you jumped in too, Graham!

Well its almost filled up. All my beloved orange dials are gone. :(
I couldn't afford it at this point anyhow.
I hope to get a pre owned in the distant future. So, please all the orange megalodon #2 owners, please take care of my future watch. ;) LOL

Wow, I'm impressed that almost all of the Meg series 2's are gone so fast!  I thought the ginormous size of the Megalodon (now that everyone has seen tons of series 1 pics) might limit its appeal somewhat.  but it looks like Ralf & Steve might have underestimated the market for this watch? (unless 150 watches is the maximum size for a production run)

Megalodon series 3 anyone???:dude:

I would have loved to have gotten a red carbon dialed 1 but with all my personal crap going on did not have the funds... I am recovery from a second shoulder surgery where they re attached by biceps tendon, then 2 weeks went to ER with some abdominal pain.. ruptured appendix.. just started back to work today :( lol all my vacation time is spent for the year :(

Grats Steve and Ralf on the success of the Meg Series 2.

What is the general feeling from everyone here about the black carbon fiber dial? The clean lines of the original is what hooked me.

I appreciate the new twist...but having some doubts that the carbon face will look busy - especially with the lume insert, polished case
and all the other cool things going on with this watch.

Regardless, this is going to be a tremendous timepiece!

Interested in your thoughts. Thanks.

Case finishes are now locked. I am finalizing the list for the factory. Thanks to everyone that has placed a reservation.

First of all welcome to 3T, you'll find the WISdom here is incredible woohoo.gif

There was a lot of talk when the original came out about CF dials and different colors, etc....IMO Ralf decided to keep it simple for the original release and do something different for series 2....you can probably go back to the original design threads here on 3T to see the discussions.

As far as the black is concerned, I think it will look great, my guess is it will look quite different in different light conditions, angles, etc.  more so then the other colors.  I was dead set on a Red dial, wanted that from the beginning, probably would have gone with black as a second choice.

Personally I like the CF dials and if you are new to Benarus Ralf's first watch the Barracuda had a Blue CF dial that is amazing.

I think the Mega with the CF dials will be incredible.

for me, you either love, or hate cf dials.   i am of the latter, it would take something amazing for me to want a watch with one.  its all personal taste

The Magolodon comes with a bracelet and leather band...correct? Which combo do you think will get the most wrist time?

Neither for me...I wear mine on a grey Nato the most, then a black Zulu, Bond Nato and then the bracelet.  I wore it on the leather strap for a couple days and really liked it .

I think it's a matter of personal choice and taste. I wanted the black CF but felt I already had lots of black dials thus I went for the blue CF. :)

it's not mentioned anywhere that the Megalodon II is a limited edition so I doubt they will be numbered especially since it is being relesed in 6 colors this time around....although I could be wrong.;)

I also find it hard to believe that with only 3 left that they are all yellow dials?....historically speaking the yellow dial versions of any popular release has always become the most collectible and valued for some reason among enthusiasts in time.hand6.gif

I can't wait for my Megalodon II to get finished......a perfect 40 year gift for myself!boy10.gif

To me it is the best of three worlds, spectacular case design(similar to my Oris TT1), an awesome orange dial (like the vintage Doxa sub 300T with the US Divers logo i want) and the HUGE design wich will fit my wrist perfect!( 8 3/4 around)

Basically it is everything i look for in a diver's watch! And yes, it will join me for hopefully countless dives around the world....:)

Greetings from cold, cold Norway!

Lars-Erik:)
