These pics are from the factory and the photo quality is low resolution, so I have requested the case be sent to me so I can photograph it now when the alloy is new, and also photograph it as the patina sets in. Ralf says it only takes about 1 week to change colors. The case is being sent to me now so I should have it next week.

I can't wait to get it, I will see if I can put my parts from the first Moray into it to get it working, I just hope they ship it with the HRV installed, but looking at the photo I guess not.

I will post better photos as soon as I get it.

Here is the sample. I added a dial from the Moray 1 to get a better idea of how it will look. I also screwed on a Megalodon crown since the threads are the same. so remember, the dial and crown will be different.

This is a sample case and the finished cases will be a bit more refined. Ralf will be heading to the factory maybe next week to work with them on this and do an inspection on the Meg 2.

The Patina (oxidization) has already started, overnight the bronze has started to look darker than when I opened it yesterday. I will post photos as the case darkens.

I did order 20 Polyurethane rubber straps for these bronze Morays. These are the kind that can be shaped to fit around the wrist by boiling them. They also do not stretch and do not attract dirt, dust, or lint.

Just awesome Steve!!!!  WooHoo....Love it!!!!my love.gif

Oh man...better save some more coins for the watch fund!

That rubber strap is a perfect match for the Moray case, and I'm very glad to see that you went with the higher quality polyurethane rubber that is shape-able and will not attract dust and lint!!!thumbsup.gif

These are going to be so sweet.

Here are some photos after 3 days. I needed a functioning watch if I am going to wear the case around,so I dropped in some parts from the first Moray: a stealth dial because I have an 8215 with a broken date wheel, polished hands because that is all I have available, and a megalodon crown because it fits the threading on the case.... I could try a worldiver crown and that would also work. I had to modify the movement holder to fit the case, but it is a very nice fit now.

I will probably swap out the dial and hands later tonight with my steel Moray, because they are closer to what the final bronze will look like (black dial with c3, black hands with c3). also because as nice as this looks, the black dial and hands with c3 will look much better.

so here we see the patina after 3 days of handling the case with my oily fingers.

Unless you keep it polished it will tarnish over time. Part of the personality of a Bronze watch.

Much better with these hands. I'm assuming that you have a Miyota movement in there and the date wheel for the ETA will be black with white numbers?

Steve,

The Black and gold look is very intense.  Drool_27.gif

Any chance of a look at a brown dial and strap?  What color crown would you use?

Jeff

Really like this. Is there any chance of getting a bronze crown, too?

I'd like to get mine with the brown dial, and a black or silver crown wouldn't match as well as a bronze.

A bronze crown matching the case would go well with all of the dials tho, just a thought.

Steve, Is the case on this identical to the 1000m case for the stainless steel Moray 2?  How much bigger are the new cases from the originals.  Thanks
