Here's a couple from this week on my Bali Ha'i.

The black stitch is from part of a military equipment pouch that had lots of holes from seams and d-rings, etc. I just couldn't toss it so I made it into a strap.

the white-stitch is from an ammo pouch.

Times, the straps are really hip. I like them both and am partial to the one with the white stitches thoughThumbsup3.gif

I like this last one a lot better than the tan/lighter one. The tan just seemed too prim and propersubtlelaugh.gif, whereas the darker one just hits the bullseye.

Any exotics?

Yeah, my I've been feeling the same, plus the "rougher" straps are more enjoyable to make in a different way, more creative, I guess.I have some alligator here to use, and some lizard, will be working on those soon.

Looks ok, too. But maybe the strap would benefit if you had run the stitch all the way through the end of the tail of the long end. That knife point would be more noticeable, IMHO.

Show me the exotics soonbravo.gif

I've been trying to use mainly the existing holes in the leather, so I left the knife-edge unstitched...I kinda like it this way!

Hmmmm...looks good, Times. Just wondering, did you think of a simple cut-edge for this one. I think the leather type's edge would stand out if a simple cut edge...IMHO.

Have you tried a pvd pig buckle on that?

This batch I like a lot, Times. drool.gif I notice the stitches are a little farther away from the edge. Is that on purpose? Any special reason for that? thumbsup.gif

That looks really good, Timesdrool.gif. I like the way you cut the edge and stitched the tailthumbsup.gif making it unsymmetrical.

2 thumbs upThumbsup3.gif. I think you make straps also as a tonic or therapy for stress relief?

You've got the magic touch, TimesThumbsUp02.gifThumbsUp02.gif

Times, if you used mink oil on this, it would darken a bit, right? And it would look older, right? I like itthumbsup.gif. Simple and direct to the point strap.
