Hey all, When I was laid off from work last year I figured I'd make good use of my TZ course and tools, so I built a few and did a Seiko mod too ![]() The first watch I build was from Otto Frei parts, case, hands, dial and an ETA 2801 hand cranker to satisfy my wish for a classic mil style: ![]() Of course, that just got me more interested! So I made some more, this one went through a couple of iterations and is now this, sort of a "Ranger" kind of homage. Case from Ofrei, scrounged ETA2824 from a dress watch given to me, MKII dial and Ranger I style hands from the 'Bay: ![]() Not done with small mil styles yet, another Ofrei case, beadblasted, with a MKII Type II dial, Ofrei hands and a Seagull ST21 ETA clone: ![]() Now for some divers, I really wanted to make my own 'sub' style with a twist. Case from Helenarou, ETA2846 (21,600 bph), dial from Noah Fuller, Ranger II style hands from the 'Bay: ![]() And another case I found on the Bay, this time a super compressor style, with a Selitta SW200: ![]() Finally, a Seiko mod, parts from Yobokies, I did some switching around as this originally started out being in an SNK427, but I switched out the whole thing with an SNK805: ![]() I don't have a pic of the 805 dial and hands in the 427 case, but I like it, a "mini-Flieger" style. One more project is about to be complete after a year long search for a dial that would fit. I picked up this cool vintage style dive case from a place in Germany, and found out that the standard dial track diameter of 26.5mm wouldn't fit! Just last week I picked up a NOS Zodiac Silver Point dive dial with a dial track diameter of 26mm, should fit just right! It will be an ETA2824 and hands from my Sandoz sub. I've foudn that "rolling yer own" can be fun and also quite frustrating at times. As a result of all these builds I know more about ETA keyless works than I ever wanted ;-) Cheers, Griff Cheers, Griff Attachment: divecase.jpg (Downloaded 202 times)

Thanks guys! I love the classic mil look, which is a good thing since diver style cases are hard to come by for ETA movements.

I like the MIIK dial! Got the Ranger hands also for a little home-made sub I had made for taking on the job: A bang-around sub. I will definitly check out those RangerII hands: They are great! Congrats on those little wonders!![]() ![]()

Griff Exciting stuff! You are on a roll with these builds. I have been playing around with a few projects myself, but on a much smaller scale. Very satisfying!

Thanks guys! I'm just hoping for some time to build this last diver...I work really slow if you know what I mean. A pro could build 3 in the time it takes me to do one, but better slow than scratched dials and bent hands! Cheers, Griff
