I have been looking for several weeks and the A4 just spoke to me. I waffled for the last 3 - 4 days because I just could not choose which one. So it was between the blue face with the silver bezel and the black face with the black lumped bezel, I preferred the face design 1 and although a bit concerned about the height the domed crystal that won out I am very excited to get my first dome. My decision was made easier when I went to order the blue face today it was sold out, so black it will be. I do not look at this as a second choice or compromise since I was really torn between the two. I think there is a good chance that if there is another run of the blue and I have some time to save up I may just have to get it as well.  Paul |

Up date... Chris emailed and it looks like the last black one was not working correctly when it was being checked for shipment, it seems to be trouble of some kind with the date wheel. He has offered to refund my payment but also states that he should have new inventory in 2-3 weeks so at this point I have emailed back that I will wait for the next batch. I could get the same watch with the flat crystal now and save $150 or so.. what does anyone think? is it worth the wait for the domed crystal or will it just be a scratch/ impact magnet? why would it be a scratch/impact magnet...it is sapphire which does not scratch,and unless you are always banging your watches against something then why should it matter if it is a dome or not? |

Good question, I work in very industrial environment ( I am a maintenance instructor at a Nuclear power plant) so there is always a possibility or an inadvertent hit, and if there is it will likely be against steel. It is probably not a big concern but at 21 mm it will be 6mm taller than anything I have now. In any case I like the look of the dome so I am going to wait until what I want is available. if this is your only watch than maybe I would be concerned,but I doubt you only own one watch,,,,I own both the dome and flat crystal models,and the the dome is worth the wait imo...it gives the A4 a sweet edge!...Congrats on which ever you decide on! |

This is definitely not my only watch and since there is time to kill I was mostly musing out loud. I am just going to wait it out a few more weeks and it will be left off of my rotation on days when I plan on being in the lab or the plant, it will be nice on classroom days or when in the development mode. My watch arrived Yesterday and it is everything I expected. Chris was a pleasure to work with and the blue dial with silver bezel looks fantastic. Through my own indecision I added a short wait that could have been muck longer. If anyone is holding out I would say go for it when it is available. I will get a picture or two up in the next couple days.  |
