Swiss Army Airforce F/A 18  -7750 Valujoux Swiss Chronograph

The list price of this FA 18 model is around $1200, but I am selling it for a fraction of the list price.  It seems to have the specs and the build quality to warrant this price. Some of the major features are: • Valjoux 7750 movement. - 25 Jewel Swiss made and a custom beadblast case it keeps excellent time -

• All stainless steel - 40mm diameter case, 20 mm lug spacing and approx. 15mm height.
• Fixed stainless steel bezel with tachymetre graduations.
• Telemeter scale on the main dial.
• 330 ft depth rating.
• Domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.
• Solid stainless steel links bracelet with diver's extension.
• Solid end links.
• Solid bracelet - scissor style fold over deployant
Superluminova on the hands,
Custom Beadblasted watch case and OEM Bracelet.

This Swiss Army F/A 18 with the Trademark classic Cross on the Red shield, is made in the classic pilot style- the custom beadblast finish lends to the true tool nature of this watch. For me it is somewhat expected on a military watch, so that is why it was done.   The Watch has a good balance on the wrist. The case transmits the classic and best known characteristic of the Valjoux 7750.  The 7750 buzz, or whirl, you can feel the slight gyroscopic effect of the rotor when it gets in a a high speed spin. This is one of the things that I love about this watch and the 7750.  If you have never felt it on your arm through the day, as  your watch reminds  you that it is still there from the feel of the whirl of the rotor on your wrist.   It is a true wrist rocket.

The OEM  (now customized in Beadblast) bracelet is quite comfortable and hefty and provides a "diver's extension (since this is supposed to be an Air Force watch, maybe this is to allow wearing it over a flight suit). Sizing is via the usual split friction pins. Bracelet micro adjustments can be done on the clasp. The bracelet deployant links are made from solid SS and sandblasted. The outer clasp is a stamped piece made from a thick piece of stainless and comes with a clasp lock. My only negative comment on the bracelet is that the clasp does not sit totally flush with the rest of the bracelet leaving a slight gap on the extension end. I thought initially that this was due to the extension not sitting properly under the clasp, but apparently this was not the case. It appears this is simply a design flaw and oversight. This issue does not affect the comfort of the bracelet when wearing the watch. I'm probably nitpicking here since unless I pointed it out, most people probably would not have noticed. The extension also has a tendency to inadvertently "extend" when releasing the bracelet, although this can probably be easily fixed by a simple adjustment.

As well as the OEM bracelet --I am also including a hefty Brushed/Satin finished Watchadoo bracelet it has not been beadblasted.  It is shown in the first set of photos below.

I did Customize the case and the bracelet by having it bead-blasted last fall.  The Bezel I left original in the satin finish and show some desk-diver type scratches I would overall rate the watch at  Very Good to Excellent    it comes with manual , hang tag. I no longer have the original box.

The other AR coating on the sapphire, has some trivial micro scratches   but the Anti-reflective coating is effective on this watch it makes the watch appear as if it doesn't have crystal depending on the angle and the lighting.. For the purpose of full disclosure, the entire movement was replaced by Swiss Army with a new movement last summer under warranty.  I have owned the watch for a little over a year now.   The original watch had issues right after I got it. I lived with it and finally got a round to sending it to Swiss Army for replacement.  The replacement has had no issues and keeps excellent time.

Why am I selling?  I recently acquired one of my grails,  I know that this watch will no longer get the wrist time it deserves, and would better in the hands of someone that will cherish it.  Same reason as the other 7750 (Sector 850)

Using TZ grading I would rate it Very Good to Excellent

Price Reduced $50 and OBRO

With the arrival of my Grail  (Ball HC Chronograph) - I am still looking to find good homes, for some underused, but still appreciated timepieces, so I have lowered prices... in hopes of finding a good home for them.
