I have a Movado watch that says swiss Movado Quartz at the bottom of the dial. It also has Movado Serial #  swiss on the caseback. Movado is on top. Is it Genuine?

Good question James...the Movado Museum is a Highly Replicated Timepiece but there are so many versions of that model it's hard to tell unless you take the caseback off !...I know mine says Swiss Made at the 6 and also on the back..but no mention of Quartz anywhere...I will take a macro close-up of the Dial and Caseback and post it for you to compare,Buddy hand6.gif I have a Movado watch that says swiss Movado Quartz at the bottom of the dial. While there are probably swiss women in the swiss watch industry ,i would not care if my swiss watch was made by a male swiss octogenarian as long as it looks good and keeps good time. What I want from a swiss maiden is that she should quicken my pulse by her mere presence and it would be very nice if she fell madly in love with me.I must add however that from my observations in Bohemian restaurants that Slovak women are well worth czeching out.

Maybe I'm not clear when I read that Invicta watches that state "Swiss Made" on the dial at the 6 position are not Swiss watches. Could someone explain this to me? Please!

No one said they weren't Swiss Made but they are not 100% Swiss Made which means all components are made in Switzerland including final assembly and inspection ....the difference is Swiss Made means 52% of the cost to manufacture is in Switzerland including final assembly and inspection which could mean the other 48% is Asian as I am not aware of any Invicta that would qualify to be called 100% Swiss Made?... I'm assuming you read the link to what Swiss Made means according to the Swiss Federation in the 1st posthand6.gif Maybe I'm not clear when I read that Invicta watches that state "Swiss Made" on the dial at the 6 position are not Swiss watches. Could someone explain this to me? Please!

Great question and welcome to 3T!! I was delighted to see you meteorite dial watch yesterday. Very nice indeed. I trust you'll enjoy your visits with us and will share you experiences with other WIS.

I don't see anything in the thread which states Invictas marked "Swiss Made" are not Swiss Made. Per the legal guidelines set forth I am certain if an Invicta dial is marked "Swiss Made" at the 6:00 positon, then it meets the legal requirements for the use of this marking.  O is dinstguishing between 100% Swiss Made and the legal qualifications for Swiss Made markings in his previous post.

Having said that it seems there is reference to certain watch selling personalities misspeaking in the past as this thread is quite old. Unfortunatley this still occurs and certainly after being pawned off as misspeaking or an error for such a long while, one must assume the so called errors are nothing more than hype in the effort to sell a watch. I guess if that is your job you do it to the best of your ability and ethics be damned.

As for the Swiss markings we all have watches with a variety of markings. If you read the attached article you wil note that watches marked "Swiss Movt" at 6:00 are not in regulatory compliance as "Swiss Movement" is the stated correct marking. I own Invictas (and other brands) marked "Swiss Movt". So what does this mean?? I don't really give a rip as the watches were great values imho.

This is always a topic  which appears and reappears. The regulations are ever evolving and open to interpretation it seems. For me the dinstinction is less important unless the watch is being represented as something it is not and is being priced in line with a misrepresentation.

Once again, welcome to 3T and glad you found us. I am looking forward to seeing more of your collection in the future!!
