I have this idea to make a 007 world timer, but I have discovered I can't find a 24 hour chapter ring for a Seiko skx007. I thought I could find one with all the parts out there, but no luck yet. This concept will still work by doing the numbers in my head, more below. first I had to blast the case, bezel, and bracelet.

I sanded the case a bit to smooth out some off the rough edges and deep brushed marks:

Mask off the glass:

Here is the blasted case and a solid end link oyster bracelet. But I have ordered a black Jurgen Flieger for this one, and I will blast the Jurgen steel rivets to match the case:

now for the parts. I am still waiting for these to arrive from Jake Bourdeau in Hong Kong. Jake took over Noah Fuller's 10watches.com website after Noah passed away. Jake has some new premium dials with more lume put down. I bought the type 2 mil dial and 2 bezel inserts and an extra steel bezel from him. The hands I will use are the 1km all black hands and the original Seiko 007 second hand.

Here is how the world time works. If I am in Hong Kong and it is 8:00am, I just double the numbers on the dial and find 8, so 4=8, then I turn the bezel until hong kong is at 4 (0800) and all the other cities are lined up with their local time (not counting daylight savings hour changes). so I see it is 6:00pm back home in Kansas City (Chicago). or add 1 hour in the summer 7:00pm

If I could find that 24 hour chapter ring it would make this a lot quicker to use:

lume shot:

Here are the 1km hands I will use:

here is the other bezel insert I will use with the 2nd bezel:

I will post more when the new parts arrive.

Wow Steve, that is one sweet project you got going. CanĀ“t wait to see the finished result. Never seen a 007 GMT before (or a 009 for that sake) so absolutely an interesting take on it.
Do keep us posted:0)

I received the dial today from Jake B.

Jake and I are going to meet in person in about 2 weeks when I am in Hong Kong.

So here is the dial.

I wanted to use the all black hands, but the minute hand was too loose.

The orange hand was a perfect fit and in the end I think it does look better with the orange hand.

I am using a Jurgen Flieger strap with this and I blasted the rivets and buckle.

Now I am waiting for the new triple grip bezel and worldtime insert to arrive.

+1 on the WOW! The result is great Steve. A completely different approach on the 007. Love it.
