The A5 landed, and it is everything I have grown to expect from Chris and Armida!...fit&finish is excellent, lume is outstanding, bezel and crown action is smooth and precise, and the bracelet is very comfortable!
....I installed the included divers clasp with machined wet suit extension over the dual deployant it came on,and good news for the WIS with big wrists...with the divers clasp this bracelet should fit a 10in wrist with no problem....weight is 240 grams with 4 links removed...
...I had heard some rumblings about the dial size, and to answer that all you need to do is look at the pic,it is not small. The dial is very crisp under the flawless 3.5mm double domed sapphire crystal.I especially like the profile of the 42mm case below the 44mm bezel, the contrast is awesome...
...here are a few Q&D's until later,it should be clearing this afternoon after an early storm here in Ohio...

TY again Guys, but it's Chris and the Armida team that put together a fine tactical diver at an affordable price that has great value imho!...there is a lot to like about this diver, especially the "no gimmick" C-3 superluminova!!!bamby.gif
...Trent,I will try a Sinn rubber on it later and post pics,i...the Dievas rubber should also fit...as well as this bracelet working on the Vortex...it all depends on the lug hole placement.

Oscar,

I appreciate you posting pics. I don't understand what the hype was about on the other forum regarding the size of the dial. I had a Kremke Subzilla and a Korsbek Ocean Explorer (wish I had both back in my collection). It seems the A5 dial is about the same size, correct me if I'm wrong.

I spoke to Chris last night, and he is holding one for me. Cannot wait to get it paid and get it asap.

Cannot wait to see more pics from Phillip and Joe. Anyone else have one on order please post 'em up when it arrives.

My A5 came in this morning. That was mighty fast delivery. The watch looks well proportioned. I had on a Debaufre Triton metal when I got it. The dial on the Triton looks about the same size. I wound it by the crown and its gotta be the smoothest I've felt. Sized it easily. Nice little hex tool included. I am very impressed with Armida!

Great photos, Oscar, mine is due today before noon, I will post some photos tonight( won't be anywhere as good as Oscars' pics)

I own a Vortex, so I can also do a side by side pic for comparison

Wow, what a difference photos can make. Oscar's pics makes it look like any other watch. However Joe's pics looks like a massive tool watch. I think the bracelet is the difference. Either way the A5 is gonna be a big hit.

For those who may be interested... I did a comparison between the A5 and the Tatico.

Case - Loooks the same. A5 Lug screws are bolt type. Tatico uses standard screw head screws. The crown is hard to tell, but they look different to me. The crown guards are even different. On closer inspection the Tatico's guard looks rounded off to make the crown look flush.

Crystal - A5 crystal looks to be a slightly bigger dome that the Tatico.

Bezel - A5 has 15-30-45 markers. Tatico has 10-20-30-40-50 markers

Dial - Completely different. A5 min indicies are round. Tatico is block type.

Hands - A5 hour and min hands are rounded, and second hand has a round lume. Tatico hour and min hands are typical plongeur hands, more square, and second hand has small square lume with red tip.

My opinion is these are two different versions. There is enough difference for them to have their own version and look. For me, if I had 5 or 6k to spend on a Kobold, I would much rather pick up the A5 and use the difference to pick up the wife a nice timepiece, and still have money left over for a nice weekend getaway.

Thanks guys!!! I don't understand the controversy started over the dial opening. it is plenty large... the proportions between the dial and the bezel couldn't be better...I have a 71/4 inch wrist, and with two bracelet links out it fits perfect on the deployant clasp. the brushed finishing is as good as it gets imho..
this is a very comfortable watch to wear..

Well this I-phone photo will have to do for a week or so as I leave for the Bahamas first thing in the morning. I will report back on the performance of the A5 in the ocean, nothing real deep 20 feet at most but this baby will see all the action! Chris and the Armida team did a great job on this one. Congrats to all the new owners, you made a great choice!

I think the A5 is an excellent choice. Looks like a tank and the bracelet is very appropriate.

Congrats to Oscar and Joe. Enjoy those watches in good health for a long time.

I've been thinking about this watch a lot. I'm at one of those crossroads where I cannot figure out where to throw my money. I like this A5. I was also considering the SAS, as well as a Prometheus Manta Ray. The Dievas Vortex was on my list too.
