Cheers,

CDouglas, if not too much of a bother, could you please share some history of this brand? The movement seems quite notable.

Royce was listd as the US export Brand in the early 1950's I believe; for Sylvan Kocher & Cie. S.A. of Grenchen, Switzerland, who started making watches after the end of WW2. Kocher had a couple different Brand names, most notably however Royce, and primarily Eska, (which is the phonetic spelling in French of Sylvan Kocher initials, SK). Founded around 1918, and then reestablished in 1922 in Selzach. the produced top-quality pieces, with signed crowms, casebacks, and mostly signed in-house movements. Their movements created were both manual, as well as automatic and other complications such as Calendar and Chronograph. Among their Automatic movements, Kocher & CIE produced some bumper movements, some cool reversos. After the quartz movement happened, they stayed aflat awhile, and eventually sold out. the Royce TM now belongs to TUTIMA, in Germany. They made some realy awesome pieces, everyone makes me believe it has to be one-of-a-kind. I wish i knew more, and had more to share, but Royce/Eska watches were a quality product and Swiss brain-child prodigy. Underrated, but doesn't bother me much, as they appeal a great deal to me--i'm all about the details of their watches, and the thrill of hunting them down.

Cheers,

Carson Leonhardt
