A question I have is why do people go nuts for Doxas?  They're plain and look cheap and now that I've found out they are cheaply made, no way.

I do not know how true the allegations are or not.............I can only believe that if they were not true, that John V would not have been allowed to apologize and "come back into the fold", but, rather, would have been sued to the hilt so that DOXA could make the point that the rvelations were bogus.  What I see now is a attitude of making nice to the guy in order to quiet him and then spinning it in hopes that it will go away.

That said..........anyway you look at it, while DOXA has a nice look, IMO they are way overpriced for what they are, what they represent and the CS provided.

Well, this was not really meant to be a rant about the DOXA "event", but simply a statement that if Tom gets any luckier (having now been banned from WUS), he will get banned from Big & Dumb, where they like to indulge in revisionist history and pat themselves on the back for the # of posts they've made!

I think you are off base and a bit out of line...

Do you have a Doxa or have you handled one?

I think you might be surprised at how low cost wold be on a number of "expensive" watches.

I cannot question the build quality of my Doxas... apparently you can...

Another hater!!

a 750t is what, around 1395.00? seems like a standard price point for a good diver. sinn u1, omega, tag. Theres history in that there watch. Pax, if you ever get tired of yours, I'll give you what you paid. Of course I know how long you waited for it so I don't think your selling anytime soon.hand6.gif

Well said Marc!hand6.gif seems the complainers and nay-sayers have never seen let alone owned a Doxa....I can't wait until they come out with a 750T in yellow using the GMT bracelet!! I have many watches in the Doxa price range and can say they are worth every penny and they hold their value compared to the others:)The entire dilemna at WUS is due to the heavy handed mods who delete and close threads and ban at will and Ernie allows them to!...and forget about saying anything negative or ask a newbie question on one of the official fora like Doxa, and Ocean7!mistake.gif...in the old days at WUS we banned no one without consultation between mods and Ernie...I have no problems with WUS but have stayed away from posting there because of the new mods who think they are policeman rather than being there to help members and keep the forum flowing... Pax....."off base and out of line"?.......this is all personal opinion.  I have never held one and may have the same opinion of "cheaply" built that Donald has after reading all the stuff written lately.  I am of the belief (without proof, of course - just some knowledge of behavior) that at least some of what John V said was true.  As to looks....again, it's all personal opinion....I, for example, do not like the looks of skeleton watches.  Others are crazy about them.  Does that make me a "hater"?

Bottom line....I luv the DOXA look...........I question the dollar value in line with other watches...........it is a reasonable opinion to have as is DonaldF's opinion, as it is a reasonable opinion and passion you have to luv them.

Your opinion may be that Rolex is a great value for the money...........mine is that it is not (and yes, I currently own 2 and have owned others).  You may luv Breitling..........I think they are (mostly) very cluttered looking and over priced. (and, yes, I currently own one).  So, if we all had the same opinions on watches, we would all have the same watch.

DOXA is a well made watch and Omega Breitling and Rolex all make fine watches ..... My point is that we all have favorites and likes and dislikes.....TO EACH THIER OWN as long as it doesnt tread on me  :D  .... different strokes for different folks and so on and so forth ..... I have handled all of them and I will tell you Doxa is a great diver !!!! But it sure is interesting all this hub-bub !!!!

If we had the same opinions on watches, what would the forums be for?

Absolutely..............passion and opinions are great.  My only point is that if my opinion differs from someone elses, that does not mean I am off base or out of line.....it simply means that i have a different opinion...............and, unless you are dragoon from WUS..........your opinion could be correct. hand6.gif
