There has to be a misprint on all these sites as far as case size being 46mm for this auto SAR.....if you read the description it says bezel diameter 41.10 mm and when you look at the watch the bezel is the same size of the case minus the crown guards....I'm thinking 46mm is lug to lug face4.gif Marathon (SAR) Dive Watch 2006 Contract Made by the Marathon Watch Company by contract to the Canadian Government for issuance to their SAR-Techs. This is the original SAR on a new 2006 Contract! New Generation. 120 click new and improved bezel (staked triangle). Comes with a new Swiss made natural rubber strap with stainless signed steel buckle. New packaging. This is a limited opportunity to own the original style SAR with Maraglo hands. You're right O, it's surely not 46mm wide for the normal GSAR/TSAR. I've had a GSAR and it wasn't nearly as big as I expected. And seeing a GSAR compared to the JSAR, they definately use different sized cases/bezels (the JSAR looks huge). I can see the desire for the JSAR size, if someone likes big watches. On my wrist, I thought the GSAR wore quite a bit smaller than it's measurements suggested, even on the fantastic bracelet. Last edited on Thu Jun 19th, 2008 10:33 am by Topher1556 |

From what I've read around here...you'd really like this wouldn't you Hucky? ;) For the price though...man it seems sweet. I'd be tempted to get the dial/hands relumed and painted, as well as a bunch of other mods too....oh man...please don't do this mod cheaply...I'll be broke :D.

if I knew what ISA quartz was used in the J-SAR it would shed a better light for me as far as how the mod is done....if all it takes is a simple swap of movements and a change of the hour/minute hand I can do it.....from the looks the J-SAR second hand can be usedhand6.gif I don't own a J-SAR so I can't determine what the size of the movement is inside and if the retaining ring and dial feet will match up ...what has thrown me is the qoute of $150. including the eta 2824-2 as I have not seen any movements selling for less than $145.:?

I got an email back from Jack and he said that it would be $150 + S/H for the transplant of the 2824-2 movement including the movement. My name is Rick Gray (Rick if you want to be friendly) and my handle is RGRAY. NOT "GRAY."
