Digging in a drawer I found a couple others I had forgotten about plus just noticed my Eco drive died too. Hmm.... :?

Do you all have any old quartz or other wise that are just sitting around in a drawer dead?

Hey Skip, I recently came across the very first dive watch I ever owned. I came across it in the bottom of a drawer, forgot I still had it. As far as I can remember it was my first diver. It's not running and I haven't had the case back off to see what it's like inside. "AMERTIME" name on the dial and case back. It looks like a Seiko or Citizen spin-off. It has a cool shrouded rotating bezel, the markings are all worn off on the black bezel ring. 300m depth rated. I used to wear this one (and beat the heck out of it) back in the mid-80s.

My Seiko World timer from 1990 needs a trip to the service center, the alarm and world time subdials are fine, the main movement has stopped.  Replacing the battery didn't help.  A "watchmaker" "fixed" it for me, lasted about a month.  I figure it needs a new module.  I never wore it much as it is gold and was a wedding gift from my wife so I was always afraid of ruining it.  That is the only reason I will get it fixed one of these days...

Cheers,
Griff

Funny thing, Skip... I was rummaging about today as well. Came across all the old junkers and some Harley watches by Bulova. Nothing running except my ESQ Submersible... man the strap smells on that beast!

I'm more of a "by the pound" kind of guy when it comes to the dead watch pile...
In all fairness I have a drawer just for the ones I can't bear to part with though ;)

Ya know, I've got an old Expo 86 Swatch that I keep meaning to get running again.  The plastic strap is in more pieces than it should be and the crown seems to be seized but I just can't part with it. Go figuremistake.gif
