I try to avoid those Skipsubtlelaugh.gif....but instead of any category/style of watch I look more for movements... complications....1st in a series, new manufacturers offerings and dialwork so this leads me in different directions as far as,luxury, dress, sport and dive watches...I have recently been hit by the "extreme watch" bug ie: Zenith Defy style...which combines all of the elements mentioned as well as size which tend to run largeyourock.gif

For me divers make the best travel anywhere watch.  One moment you can be in the sea and the next in a hot tub.  The sealing of the case and the overall construction is just more durable.

I prefer dress watches when involved in leisure activities, but I like small watches and complications that are not available in any other designs.

I only have one diver. (nivrel) It is very plain and well crafted. I generally prefer very simple clean styles. Understated elegance and all that. Definitely no chronos (unless you mean chronometer) for me. As for complications, Day/Date, power reserve, and GMT are about it. And then not all on the same watch. Sub-seconds are OK too. Regulators too. And I couldn't turn down a great value on a turbillion. But I like to keep the dial uncluttered. Guilloche is nice, though. OK I admit it...
ANYTHING THAT TICKS.

I have several different types of watches, but right now my taste leans toward divers. I like the style and chunkiness.:D

Mostly divers for me too.  I'll have the occasional non-diver if it's cool..

I am pretty much all over the place but taking a quick look at the collection shows a definite predilection for divers. Like Avery said, they are tough, sealed and should take a good amount of daily use no matter how rough it might be...
