I sold a watch to Antsio100 who is in greece, I sent him the watch and It still has not reached him. I think its lost. 3rd watch this year for me.

I sent a Monstrum to Kent Parks to be Mod'd and hes in Flagstsaff arizona Im in California.  On June 25th it arrived at Unit.  Unit means Post Office for Distribution.
I was hoping it would say DELIVERED!  So I have another watch that the Post office has lost, Not to mention that I have paid for this Mod in Full, up front.

You know the saying-  If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself

So for now on, Ill be driving my sold watches and picking up my bought watches, its just as costly and takes just as much time. subtlelaugh.gif

I send stuff to Greece all the time...it takes about 3 to 4 weeks for it to get through Greek Customs.  As for Kent...when the original 3T ORSA watches were sent, they were sent USPS Priority.  Kent live right up the road from me (well, Tucson to Flagstaff).  Everybody got their watches before I did...by the postmark, it took almost 8 days to reach me.

Yeh, the Post Office sucks, but these days, so does everybody else.  Hell, FedEx won't even insure a watch...you have to buy insurance from a 3rd party vendor!

And DHL gosh all mighty. In the past 4 or 5 years they have never delivered the day tracking says it is due. And in the past 2 years it is rare for me to get a package from UPS that has not been beat up some. :X

With USPS I so hate it when a sub is working. Man some of those folks do not seem to be able to read very well. :?

Glad one your watches was found Hucky.  I've been lucky I guess.  I don't ship much stuff, but when I do, It's arrived in reasonable time.

I did send my daughter a gift card last year but it was stolen...the empty envelope was delivered though, and in reasonable time.

I frequently send "care packages" to the troops in Iraq and Afganistan and I hope it ges there, cause I pay an arm and leg to ship it.

Sorry to hear you got a bit snake bit, buddy.:X For my money the USPS is still the way to go... though I've had one go missing on its way to Germany. It may seem a bit isolationist, but I limit my sales to the CONUS.:P

Hucky,

You know the rule that watch sales should only be completed at the butcher shop.

I hope you're using the flat rate box's. That saves money over the more traditional method of packing it in a brown box and putting an address on it. My wife will purchase several flat rate boxes at the Post Office, along with the 'official' packing tape and store them at the house until needed.

Ditto to that...Priority Mail Flat Rate Box is the only way to go if you can fit what you need to into it (they come in a couple of different sizes and configurations.  Ship, I believe, up to 70 lbs at the Flat rate of about $9.00 +/-!

I didn't know about the flat rate boxes.  I usually ship stuff in cooperation with others.  Lately, I've been involved with A.G. Russell's War on Troop Boredom program, whereby books, CDs and DVDs are being sent.  A.G. Russell is a knife seller in Arkansas if anyone would like to check i out.

It sounds like Flat rate would work...also, you want to ask USPS about the special book rate which is normally 1/2 the regular postage...although it goes by truck to the APO in NY or SF.  With what you are shipping, it shouldn't matter because time is not of the essence.

Thank you for your efforts for the troops!

Just looked at the site and see he carries Randall Made Knives...I used to collect hand forged blades and own 2 Randall's made by "Bo" back in the 1960's.  One is the "British" Commando "Fighting Stiletto", and the other was the M18 "Attack & Survival" knife that he developed for as a jungle survival knife during the early stage of Vietnam (back then it had a rubber butt cap to keep the hollow handle watertight).  Even back then, the wait time for a Randall Knife was well over a year (it was when everything was hand forged and no Solingen blades were used)...I sent him a copy of my orders to Vietnam and he custom made the knife and shipped it to me within 30 days...He was a great patriot...and that knife came in handy on multiple occasions!!!
