Hi, I'm looking for a 44-48mm (w/o crown) Pilots watch that takes a 24-26mm strap. I've been looking and haven't found anything that meets this criteria.

Sapphire is preferable and an auto or manual movement is preferable.

But I'll consider mineral and quartz if need be.

Any have any suggestions of where to look.

I also have a low price range $300 (U.S.) - give or take...

Thanks in advance.

not sure if it meets your specs but you could try a Ticino they are Chinese mechanical.  I also think Naples watch has German inspired pilot called an Ein Luft or something like that Also Chinese

Also got to Gnomon watches and check out Aristo and Ollech and Wajs watches. I think you'll find something Swiss for right around 300 US.  I have a Yellow O&W XXL and it is a real nice watch not a classic pilot though.

Thank you both for your suggestions. I will follow up on both. Unfortunately, though, Naples Watch is no more... At the watchuseek forum there is a thread I started titled "What happened to Naples Watch" (Affordables forum)in the forum someone posted a link to a website showing the Naples is in suit with another company. Their website and ebay store is gone. Too bad.

Both Ticino and Ollech&Wajs have a model that come close enough to fitting the bill. The question is do I want to save $110 and go with the Ticino or pay the extra and go with Ollech & Wajs. Truth is I look the look of of the Tocino better (it has a Fleiger crown, Ollech and wajs does not). But the Ollech and Wajs is swiss with an ETA 2824 and Tocion is a chinese Mechanical.  I have a watch with an Asian 6497 in that's been a good performer to this point. But the Asian 6497's it seems to be hit or miss - depending on who the final assembly, oil, prep, and QC...

Does anyone have any experience with the Tocino?  Is the movement robust and reliable. I'm more concenred with durability over accuracy.

Both watches have mineral glass...

Hi!

Within this price range, the only model I found is the Russian Aviator Small Second 3603.

It has an mechanical Poljot 3105 movement, it's 45 mm (that's extremely large, the dial itself has a diameter of 40mm!). The only thing that doesn't meet your criteria is the strap size, it's 22 mm, not  24 or 26.

You could also get a used Glycine KMU48 (48mm without crown!):

or a used Glycine Incursore Automatic (46mm without crown):

Zeno Watch Basel has also many cool oversized models. But again, for $300 you could only get a used one.

Check this one, the "XL Pilot Timekeeper" (47.5 mm):

I would avoid anything made by Ticino or Naples watch as they are being sued for copyright infringement  face4.gif...Zarith gave some great examples as in the $300. price range pickings are slim and your best bet may be to hit the sales forums for something pre-ownedhand6.gif

Good suggestions given here already. If you want something mammoth try one of these:

I got one from this eBay vendor and it is an excellent pilot's watch which makes a statement simply because of it's gargantuan size. Here's a link:

RT on the Bay

Great watch...

Excellent guidance. It is much appreciated. I'm considering Russian (Aeronavigator or Aviator small second hand), Ollech and Wajs (46mm), and browsing pre-owned.

Again, you've save me a great deal of time. Thank you all.
