Hope not to get the title censored...

I got a Parnis Power Reserve, that got with the power reserve indicator misaligned. Does not point to zero when it should. I believe the price is suitable for developing my watchmaking skills.

I do not have a hand puller (but plenty of watch screwdrivers...), and have not attempted anything like this in the past. So the question, how should I do it? Hand is tiny. See pic below, the "victim" is the dial on the right.

are you sure the movement is completely wound down?....if it is you probably won't have to pull the hand....you should be able to just move it by using your finger or a small tool if you prefer like a screwdriver or even a toothpick which would be softer imo to the zero position hand6.gif....I wouldn't expect too much from a Parnis! ;)

Thanks! I will try the toothpick. Thought about that, but was not sure if I could break/bend it.

just make sure you are close to the center rather than the outer end of the hand and there will be less of a chance of bending it in case that is where 0 really is and the dial is wrong and it won't budge....I haven't seen any full circle power reserve indicators like this one and most are like a half circle....like I said I wouldn't expect too much from a Parnis other than the unexpected.:D

Strange things happen. I got the watch and, with zero reserve, the power reserve indicator was pointing to anything but zero. Fully wound, it got to around 30 hours in the reserve dial. I left it run into a stop to proceed with the "surgery", but when the watch stopped, the power reserve indicator was a bit under zero. Fully wound it again, and it got to forty something... So, I am leaving it like that for the moment.

On another note, I opened it to clean some dirt I saw on the plate, and something that looked like oil in the click. To my surprise, the dirt and the "oil" was glue, which is used to stick metal sheets that have the perlage decoration to the movement plate, without too much care, obviously... With a magnifier, I saw there were traces everywhere. After some intense cleaning, I got all out.
