I was trying to play out that scene in my mind and you're right...using wrong sized zulus or natos doesn't guaranty the head stays where it is. I think your case was a very rare one wherein both spring bars or pins were twisted off their holes simultaneously. Hope the head fell on the bed or just the grass.

The watch was a Ti Zilla with Walt's roomy adapters. I picked the watch off the mantle, must have been by the buckle end, and the head slid off. The watch is fine and it didn't land on my toes, thank God.
