I might get rocks thrown at me for this but I totally went against the grain and pre-ordered the Lum-Tec 300m after making my post about the other watches. It's a new 40mm diver for them.  I had other watches on my list but this one blindsided me.
Over the last 24 or so hours I've been reading up on the 300M at other forums. I hate to use the word "haters" but there was that group and supporters (fan boys?) of the new product. The conflict was with some of the design features, price point, and the usage of the movement (SII NH35).
There are naturally some things that could be changed but overall I think it's an ok package for a grab & go dive watch. I need something different in my collection anyway.

The bezel is sapphire (which I like) and the clasp has a nice ratcheting extension. Not to mention the awesome lume. The 40mm size is perfect for me. Lum-Tec also provides lifetime regulation on the watches.
The watch just sang to me. Good thing is that if I don't like it once I see it in person, Lum-Tec has a return policy with notification within 48 hrs of receipt.

Well one thing is for sure, Lum-Tec is a US company. I don't mind supporting the local guys when I can. ThumbsUp02.gif

Congrats if this is what makes you happy at the end of the day.

I have to agree with those who have a conflict, and I just don't think I could justify spending $750. for a 40mm Asian watch with a inexpensive Japanese 21,600 BPH Sii NH35  movement that you can get in a Invicta or Android for under $200.?... no.gif

Yup. That was the tough part to swallow but I'll see how it is when I get it. Then again I've paid $700+ for a G-Shock Frogman. No telling how cheap the internals are on that. I know apples and oranges...

Hey, at the end of the day, we all get what we bargained for. If you are happy with it, who gives a monkey's what anyone else thinks?! We all have watches in our collections others would not touch with a barge pole and vice versa but that is what makes this such an exciting hobby! Hope you enjoy your new acquisition. Dim
